I handed in a resume to a store about 2 weeks ago with my friend. They just called her right now, and she asked if they'd call me too. The lady said 'oh, shes up next'. But coincidentally my phone was off, so my friend called me and told me to turn it on immediately. It's been 30 minutes, and I haven't heard from them. I want to call them, but what am I supposed to say? Any help is appreciated.

I need some advice on how to start. Do I need to go to college for this. I know there is a lot of licensing involved. I would love to have my own business, preferably a daycare. I feel like time is going by and I still havent started a career I want. If I dont open a daycare, I would love to be a teacher. Any advice?

I just finished School and I recently had an exceptional job offer for a job that I applied for a long time ago. The problem is, that it is in the wrong state. My family is planning on relocating in two months (I was unaware of this when i applied) and I have been seeking out jobs in my new state for ages with no good responses. I would ideally love to take the job in my current state and have this job turn into a telecommuting position if posible. How can I find out the possibilities for telecommuting prior to accepting the job without raising concerns with my new employer? Can I negotiate this into my job counter offfer? If so, how? Do you reccommend not mentioning the word "telecommute" now and asking for the telecommuting option when the time comes? I look forward to your advice.

yup, she was confronted and in fact she copped attitude and said she wasnt a mind reader. I have asked this chick if I could help her atleast 3 different times and all she ever says is no.

WHY HIRE SOMEONE IF YOU GONNA STAY THERE? DUH???

I have since moved on. I plan on updating rez and sending out tomorrow. Did I mention this is at a dealership? Workerbee owner does not care, and him and the current controller are thick as thieves. No wonder he doesnt want her to leave.

I have certainly learned a lesson here. If a job is too good to be true, prolly is. And no more dealership jobs for sure! No future.

I already have my degree, so I don't have to take the class. I just did it because he asked me to. He is paying for the course itself, but studying and going to school takes time which I'm not asking reimbursement for. Should I ask him to pay for my text book or atleast half? It cost $90 and I really can't afford that right now

Many people I knew had jobs throughout Grade 11 and some threw Grade 10. I never got one and only now it's before my last year of school (Grade 12) that I am searching for one. And my mom said the process can take months. How am I going to afford post-secondary education with so little time to work? Have I waited too long?

hi everyone, i have not worked for a few years due to personal family problems etc, a month ago i got a new fulltime job in a supermarket.
at my interview they asked me if i could work saturdays, i told them no as i have prior long term commitments, they said thats fine.
i noticed that on my contract they had put me in from 9 to 6 on saturdays, i went to my superviser and told him, he told me to go and talk to my other supervisor who would sort it out for me.
the second supervisor told me i could work on my day off (tuesday) and take saturdays off, that way i would still be working the 39 hours per week, i asked him if i needed to tell anyone else apart from him about this, he said no he would sort it all out.
anyway, last firday i was called into my managers office, he wanted me to explain the unatharized absences i had taken (saturdays), i told him what my supervisor had told me, manager told me he shouldnt have told me that would be ok, now i have to wait til the end of next week as just after talking to me my supervisor took 2 weeks off work, manager wants to talk to him, then i have to have disiplinary action and they said they might not even pay me as i didnt work my contract even though i worked my days off.
what do i do now? manager said it doesnt look good for me as im a new starter, i have been looking for a new job, but the way i see it im getting in trouble for doing what my supervisor told me was ok??

I have been employed for 7 years by the same company and I make good money but can't work days, which is what my family needs. I'm considering quitting. What can I do to make as smooth transition from my steady job to hopefully one that will allow me to be there for my family? What are the unemployment/welfare laws in Texas. I'm looking to do some training to find a 9-5 career. I know I'll be taking a huge paycut. I just want to do what's best for my family. I'm tired of other people raising my kids (babysitters). How much time does Texas state assistance help you financially? Is there job placement? Do they give you enough time for education/training? How long would I have to find employment? etc.

I manage a business with very extreme business cycles - the summer and holiday months are very busy where the fall and spring months are very slow.

I have 4 assistants who all need hours.
-One is the former manager who stepped down to a part time role when I took over. He doesn't want to work weekends and prefers to not work nights. He's been with the company for about 10 years.

-One as hired as an assistant about a year ago after having worked for about 6 months as a regular crew member. She mainly wants to work weekdays but will work some weekend days and nights. She is also pregnant and will be going on maternity leave in 2-3 months and I don't know if she plans to come back after her baby is born.

-One was hired from the outside about 4 months ago when I was in a tight situation. She was hired for 25-30 hours per week.

Here's my situation: I'm 22 and graduated from a reputable college a few months ago. Now I'm living at home and in the process of applying to professional school. I regret not making many friends in college, because now I'm stuck at home by myself, sad and lonely. I found a job as an SAT tutor that pays $25/hr, which is great, but I won't have the chance to meet new people or make new friends, aside from the high school students who I will be tutoring alone in their homes. So, I'm thinking of getting another job in addition to the SAT job where I can meet more people my age. Where should I work? Starbucks? My concern is I have a degree and shouldn't settle for minimum wage. Or maybe I should for the purpose of meeting people? Or maybe at a restaurant where I can earn tips? Any suggestions? I live in San Jose, California. Thanks :)

If I were interested in doing this, how would I go about it? I would like to educate/prevent the disease. I have my BA in public relations and have several other friends who are interested in helping me get this off the ground. I have a few questions though... Do grants pay for peoples salary? If so, whats a reasonable amount? Do grants pay the lease on property for non-profits? Where can I go for more info on grants? Must they be renewed yearly? Any other helpful information? I just read that 1 in 5 college students are infected with HIV and this is alarming... I want to help...
