I am a mother of 2 and a part time model. I am 5'10, 130 lbs. I am a sz 6, slim figured w/ definate curves (chest hips butt). I am competing w/ sz 2s+4s w/ no hips or butts and MAYBE speedbumps or mesquito bites for breasts. When i audition by myself, clients love me and think I'm perfect but when I am required to audition in a group of these tiny teeny boppers all the sudden I'm the "big girl".......I know I look good, expecially after kids (sorry, not trying to be concieted) but my dream job is starting to take a toll on my confidence level and I am beginning to be a bit self concious.I want to show my kids that if you work hard dreams do come true but I refuse to give in and starve myself or diet to get "thinner". I guess my question is .....should I forget about my dream and throw in the towel in order to save my emotional well being and stay healthy or do I deal w/ being the "big girl",try a diet or two, and pray my kids don't take notice?

I will most likely receive an offer for a serving job at a chain restaurant on Tueday (i.e. TGIF) However, there is a nicer restaurant where I interviewed and he told me they will do their hiring in 1-2 weeks and I should call back in a week and then he and another guy will discuss my interview at that time, whatever that means. My only income is a weekend job right now, so should I accept the first job I get or hold out for the job where I will make more money but is not a for sure thing?

I've interviewed for about three different jobs and haven't been hired yet. Is this normal? I've gotten called back for all of the jobs for a second interview but then they let me know i did not get the job. The third one I have had the secnd interview already and haven't heard back yet. I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if there is just alot of competition.

i'm a quiet person, but two old ladies decided to get on me because I didn't talk much with them, yes they are extremely petty. I ended up getting fired because it was afer my shift and they started verbally ganging up on me and i walked out of the "meeting". I have the number to their businesses and one's home number. one of the ladies was the boss tho and i have her work and home number and work address. I need something to do to get back at them. she treated me so rudely compared to everyone else there even tho i excelled beyond everyone else in my work. please don't respond that i shouldn't get my revenge. I need it for the sake of my sanity. please don't offer advice on sending away for sex magazines and having them delivered. that's pointless. thanks. also, telling me to get over it won't work either. i realized these ladies were evil, but i never got my last word in on them and i'm not going to call to speak to them. also, i'm not sure about worker's compensation or whatever it

I've worked as a Legal Assistant (similar to paralegal) for 9 years. It's my "day job" to support acting aspirations that have never paid the bills. Trouble is the work is really getting old and I hate working for attorneys. Any advice on transitioning careers/job without starting at the very bottom? I know this is a vague question so any advice will be appreciated.

ok my job i have now is physical and laborous. I am pregnant right now. i m about to be a single mother. The thing is the job isnt really during " day care " hours. im 4 1/2 months along now - but it pays good and its got good benefits and job security. the Thing is its getting harder and harder for me to do the job the further along i get. Also the insurance is covering for my labor and delivery. It is hard to get jobs in the place i live in, there are some out there but also a lot of applicants. should i jsut quit now and find a job that wroks wit day care hours now that isnt too phsycial?? also another thing i am just barely above the level to get the chidlcare assitance and WIC and all that = if i got a diffrent job id qualify for those which could really save me a lot of money. so what should i do? should i start looking now, or wait til i have the baby?

Please bear with me, their is a lot to explain.

I have been working at my job for 2 1/2 years. When I started, I was full time working 40+ hours a week with benefits (just so you know I am not off the books!). I work 7 1/2+ hours a day, I also work straight through lunch and while I am paid (it is my normal pay) I cannot eat. If their is no one in the store I can eat quickly but if someone comes in I cannot. Their are no labor laws posted anywhere. I am not allowed to sign my time cards (I just punch in and out, and when I get my paycheck their is a total of hours but no individual break down of hours that I am allowed to see. Which is why write down my own hours and I have caught mistakes on my paychecks). When I asked about over time (because I get paid every two weeks and sometimes my hours where over 88+ total and their were days when I did a open to close with no breaks which were 14 hours in one day) They said that legally they don't have to give me over time because that's what their lawyer said. Conveniently a week after asking about over time they cut me down 8 hours a week and dropped my health insurance (which I now pay out of pocket) so for the past year my hours have been 30-34 a week. This past Sunday they said they have to cut me down to 9 hours a week effective Monday and I should look for another job. Is that not laying me off? No one can function for 9 hours a week. Am I in my right to file unemployment as is they are laying me off even though they didn’t say it out right and also the stuff I mention above is any of that stuff illegal and should I also go to the human rights bureau? Please can someone help me? Thanks

Well, I'm trying to figure out what I want to do as a career. I am really good at math, I'm not really a fan of science. So, please, tell me some jobs that have math and a little science and if you know an estimate off the top of your head could you please tell me how much they make a year. Oh, and I don't want to be a teacher, love kids but I just can't be a teacher.
Thanks!

Okay, I applied for a job at my local movie theater, and there are some places in my town that allow you to be 15 to be able to get a job, & I'm pretty sure this is one of those places. Okay so I e-mailed the manager and that same day he e-mailed me back saying to come in and pick up an application. So the next day I came in to pick one up. I got one and the man who gave it to me was not the manager. So I fill the application out over dinner with my mom, and about an hour and half later I came right back to turn in the application, and to my suprise the manager was there, so I gave him my application and he looked it over and said "Didn't I just e-mail you yesterday?" & I was like "Yup." and he said "I like a person who is on top of things." So I thanked him and he told me he'd call in a couple of days.

Is that a good thing? I had one previous job, but it was with my moms company. And in your opinion, Do you think I'll get a job there?
