I've interviewed for about three different jobs and haven't been hired yet. Is this normal? I've gotten called back for all of the jobs for a second interview but then they let me know i did not get the job. The third one I have had the secnd interview already and haven't heard back yet. I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if there is just alot of competition.

Are you qualified for the jobs? Are you interviewing well? Do you have a degree? It depends on if you have a speciality and have gone through college verses a teen that wants a first time job...

It works in proportion to your age. If you're 20, three or four should get you hired. Fore every 15 years, increase the interview count by an order of magnitude. Sad but true.

It took me 1 interview to get my job, but it depends on the industry.

I got an IT engineer job in 1 interview.

Go into each one expecting to get hired. Have the confidence it takes to get hired. If you don't that's ok, just don't let it get you down. Like Ben Franklin said when he was asked how he felt when he failed about 500 times to make a light bulb...He said something like he was not a failure but he knew 499 ways not to make a light bulb. (not sure about the numbers but you get the idea).

If you really want the job. Let them know that your time is valuable and if they are interested in you as a future employee to respect your time. Gas, travel, transportation and time cost money. You here to make money. In return for your time and knowledge ...not give it away for free
