I have been recruiting people for big companies for 10 years and thinking to start my own business. I am curious to know - would you go and pay money (say, 30-50 euro per hour) to help you prepare for your job interviews (individual session). Say, you would get taped, your body language, your presentation skills observed, improved, you'd be aware of different types of questions, how to answer tricky questions, etc. I helped a couple of my friends and they both got jobs in the past.

Half the week, I have nothing to do. When I tell my boss, she gives me only a five-minute job. I'm not allowed to play on the internet in my free time. When I'm busy, I have deadlines to meet, so I can't stretch out my work. To look busy, I shuffle papers around all day (but that gets old after a while and makes for a very long clock-watching day). This has been going on for three years. I haven't looked for another job because the pay and benefits are excellent. I'm stumped as to what to do about this situation?

I recently got my M.B.A. from a fourth string school and thought it would open up all sorts of doors for me... NOT! I have always not lasted at companies for longer than three years due to getting wrapped up in politics, getting "feelings" hurt, pissing people off, etc... What is wrong with me? Is it my personality? I just want to work for one company and stay with them until retirement. I don't like being the "new" guy every three years. Would someone tell me what they think i am doing wrong... please be brutally honest. thank you!

I have been working at this company for 2 months in a senior-ish role and was due to go on my 2nd business trip abroad tomorrow at 8am. I was packing and only just realised that my passport was with my mortgage broker whose office is about 2 hours away from my house. I won't be able to take the train from London to Paris now and will have to call my boss to let her know that my assistant will be covering my appointments tomorrow in Paris. I am the kind of person who thinks that this sort of thing is totally unprofessional and unforgiveable. Is this going to damage all the good work I have done and mar my work persona/reputation?

experience. Do you think as a 21 yr old woman I will have an opportunity to enter the same line of work somewhere else? I was handed the job that I have but I have excelled in it. Most places say they only hire people with 5 or more years of experience. What do you think?

I was wondering if you can send letters to people about mystery auctions that you are doing and they send me money and I send them a letter saiding whether they win or not. Is that okay? That won't have the police at my doorstep or any thing right?

P.S. I'm not trying to sell anything on here.

hi, i am an aspiring actress and i have a list of all SAG agents. some of them say, NO DROP INS AND PHONE CALLS, what does that mean? Does no drop ins mean you cant go there, or you can't mail them anything? does that mean you cant give them your personal resume? If it doesn't say that, is it safe to call them or give them your resume? Do i first call them or do i just send it over and ask if they have recieved it?

I dont understand??

Heres the deal. im a young lad, working in engineering and educated to degree level. I work 45 hours a week, study 10 or so hours a week on top of that and just generally try hard to be relatively successfull.
despite all of this I cant afford a mortgage so live at home, dont earn enough or have enough time to live a playboy stylee lifestyle and pay a **** load of tax to the cunts that we call the government each month.

however, the town i live is is FULL of other people my age group, who have no job, little education and general anti social beheaviour issues. they have also managed to bring loads of kids into the world too. because of this, they all get shed loads of dosh, a free home they can call there own, work 0 hours a week and just generally live the life of riley.

Is it just me, or is that just a load of bollocks?

I have been on the sick for 6 months due to depression caused by the situation in my workplace. Although I don't have any problem getting interviews within my organisation, I do have problems when asked about my sickness record because when I reveal what has happened and how it was the fault of my employer and not myself, well, you can see my chances fly straight out the window. I work for one of the largest organisations in the UK and I think my career has died, whilst I watch lesser qualified staff climb the career ladder. Do I lie, massage the truth (which really galls me) or what. The truth has got me nowwhere

take what i said to her. basically, i got fired for not sitting there after my shift was over to be a verbal punching bag for them. she called me later to let me know that she was letting me go, because I didn't get along with others, but that was a lie amongst other things that she told me regarding my pay, the job description, wanting me to lie to the customers, etc. when she said she was laying me off I replied with, "that's okay :)". i didn't mean to be rude by that and i said it in a relieved, sortof upbeat way like i wasn't disappointed, which i wasn't. after she lectured me, i told her that I didn't like the job anyways and that she lied to me about the job description and changed my pay on me. her voice went up in pitch like it does when she is caught in a lie with customers. instead of apologizing to me for lying to me about my pay she told me to stop complaining about the rate that she gave me instead. I ended up pushing my buttons on my phone in her ear and hung up on her.

I work for a small company in CALIFORNIA. There is no office handbook setting the policies on anything. We usually just ask our boss for permission for days off, etc. I did asked my boss before I left for my vacation to see if I'd get paid during the days I was on vacation. He told me he'd pay me out of his own pocket and not from company payroll because he does not want his wife to find out (his wife is very stingy). So I went on my vacation this whole time thinking that I'd get paid during the time I was gone.

Today's Fri, I just came back from my 2.5 week vacation and was planning to return to work the following Monday. To my surprise, my boss' wife just called my cell right after I got back home from the airport and said I don't have to go to work anymore.

1) What are my rights here?
2) Am I still entitled to get paid for the days I was on vacation? If yes, how should I ask for it?
3) Am I obligated to answer any work-related questions if they call me?

Im only 18 and i am still in school right now. The reason im asking this is because ive been dealing with alot of depression and stress lately and my job is contributing to it. I go to school for a few hours and then volunteer at a hospital to get college credits for the rest of the day so it feels like i work 7 days a week. I only work weekends for my real job but it just feels like i never get a break ever. Im aslo not hurting for money right now though.

just some advice would be helpful

thanks.

I am working in a hight tech company for 6 years. One year back
I changed my group in the same company. Thenew manager cheated on the job assignment. he offered me one tasks but after joining he forced me to do other task. Then I informed it to upper level mangement. But nothing happened to job assignment, moreover my manager became more angry and for one year he did not do anything becuase I was in critical position fo rthe project.
Now the project is over and he is trying to find false exceuse to fire me or give me a very bad rating in the focal review.

Can I sue my employer or m manager for this kind of behavior ? will it be beneficial for me ?
