Im 16, i want this job at some food store, but they don't have that "HELP WANTED" or "NOW HIRING" outside their window...is it ok if i still ask for a job there? and if so , WHATS A NICE, SMART WAY TO ASK, so that I could get an interview....?

Call them first and ask to speak to a manager. Ask the manager if they are accepting applications and/or resumes. If they aren't ask if there is a busy time of year in which they hire people.

If it's a larger company, they may have a website, so check that as well. You said it's a food store, so you may want to see if they are union or non union, as most grocers tend to be union or have multiple union departments.

I can do this, this and this (specifiy what you can do that is relevant to the employer). Do you have any vacancies that require those skills?

If you know how to use a cash register, tell them that.
if you know how to be deal with a variety of people and have customer service skills, tell that to the employer.

Do you know anyone who already works there? If you do, ask them if you can use their name, and say the following to the employer.

Jane (whatever their name is) mentioned that you might be looking for sales people. I can do this, this and this. Do you have any openings that require those skills?

And have a resume to back up your claims.

Yes, bring your resume, and act very proffesional. bring your resume, show them your not a criminal or wat evr. and act nice, theyll deff hire you.
