My daughter finished high school, went on a volunteer program then came home to a lot of upheaval and a move to a new town. She had a pizza job before we moved but hasn't found another job. She's done the usual reading ads, visiting the youth employment centre, gone out and handed out resumes, but nothing so far. Mom's advice isn't being received too well, so I thought someone else's might work better. Thanks!

i am really confused...really really confused...i have this friend who is really talented but luck never favored him...the company i work in, is looking for more ppl for my dept....as a friend, i think he deserves the job 200% because all his skills are perfect for this job..he will surely be an great asset to this company...however, if i recommend him, it will be full stop or at least a loss of huge oppurtunity for me as i too had a really hard time to find a job where i can grow...the friend in me says "why r u thinking!!! recommend him" and the career-minded guy in me says "u found this job after sooo much of hard work and now u want to give it away...u r a fool if you do this!!!" i am doing good at this job and can surely grow here and so don't want to loose this oppurtunity...what do i do ??? i am sure many have gone through this...but is there a real answer i can follow which will work in the short term as well as in the long term ???..please help me...asap

I'm interested in getting a job with linguistics. I love german and am currently learning it, and I know Spanish and a little japanese. What kind of career options are there with translating documents? I'm stronger in languages when it comes to translating them from paper and understanding their meaning than speaking. Are their a lot of jobs in this particular area and maybe through immigration?

I have a PhD and my maths is quite good - but I have no actual qualification in it. Is there anything I can take that would impress potential employers?

I have just started a new job. I'm currently on a working holiday visa which is soon to expire and my HSMP visa and FLR (HSMP) are still processing. I am wondering If I can still work, as I am a 'higly skilled migrant' and the problem is all the 'processing' stuff. Everything in the homeoffice always takes forever, and I don't think it's fair that I may have to leave my job while I wait for an 'OK' stamp. Has anyone had the same issues and is anyone out there still working while waiting for HSMP visa approval?

Thanks
