I am freelance graphic designer and recently I got my biggest project ever and well it involves alot of illustration artworks for a calendar and it will consist of diff designers from diff countries's artwork so I was really excited about that. Frankly, I NEED THE MONEY more than the glory. I do not wish to be a full time designer, Im doing it now as a living till I get the job that I want. I got my cheque off from this project but now my client who is the middle party for this project (she liaise straight with the client in US) told me to put in each artist's name of the artwork. And she will be using her own name (not her company's - its her company btw) on MY artwork. I understnd that when I got paid as a freelancer, my work become's the company's property but I feel so sore when she s putting her own name on my artwork. I need the money more than anything else and I know I wont open my mouth to say anything coz I get most of my big projects from her. Shd I b feeling sore abt this?

Nobody new I worked there because the hours I was given were random so I wasn't on the schedule. I went in later that day and my boss was standing near the "clock in machine"! I acted like I was going to my locker and she asked me if I was working today. I said no that I was off. I then just went home. WHAT DO I DO!?!

This past summer I started work at a new job. The position they put me in was much more advanced than the position I applied for and was expecting. Basically they saw skills on my resume that I had not used in 3 or 4 years and I told them this but I was placed in a position where I not only had to use them but be a "master" at these skills.

Anyway, after 3 months it became apparent that this was just not going to work out. They kindof gave me hints of what was coming and allowed me time to quit on my own.

It worked out for the best because afterwards I was able to find a job in the same field where I make almost twice as much (not joking) however this new job is contract based and soon I will be in the job market again so....

my question is should I include this 3 month job that did not go well at all on my resume. If I leave it blank people will certainly ask. Include it? Leave it out?

I like my job, but I am planning to move abroad toward the end of the year, though I havent talked to the department manager yet about about that. For one, Im not 100% sure how things will work out and 2) its still a bit early.

3 days ago, my manager comes to my office with her 'second in command" and asks if I would be interested in this promotion with raise...which would be substantial (making a difference of about 25-30,000 more per year).

I could surely use the money & I definitely would be productive for them during that period. Even if its going to be for less than a full year (perhaps more like up to 6 more months).

When I go back into the office, I would like to just say that I really would like the position, and go ahead and say that I'm not sure how much longer I would be here, giving them my latest possible date of leave as August. But, part of me doesnt want to say that because they may withdraw the offer.

Advice?

My husband is forced to go into work early or stay late, often several hours at a time, or lose his job. What is worse is these would be overtime hours, so legally he would get time and a half. His employer wants certain work done, an unreasonable amount that no new person could do- let alone him with over 8 years experience, and he tells the men that if they can't do it he will replace them with someone who can. (Good luck to him on that) He makes good money, and has good benefits, but he works 10-15 OT hours a week and is not getting paid for it. That is $200-$300 a week he is being cheated out of. Any ideas???

My boyfriend has an interview tomorrow with Corus for a placement in their Long Products division. Does anyone know what they are like to work for? It seems like a great opportunity. I've also been reading about the acquisition by Tata Steel and not sure what this would mean for employees considering the possibility of cut backs.

Anybody have any advice about Corus?
