Is Information Technology really that difficult to grasp? I've been in IT for several years. I had classes in college that would start the term with 300 students and as few as 30 of us would finish the class. My company has taken to hiring people from halfway around the earth to do this work. These are jobs that many people would consider good-paying jobs. So is it that Americans are incapable of learning to do this work or that they are just not willing to work that hard?

I've heard that there is a law that says your boss does not have to give a reason for firing you, but this doesn't seem like it should be allowed. Don't employees have the right to know? Please help.

I'm in high school. What subjects do i need to get a job at the UN, and do i need a university degree and if so what university subjects do i need? And where do i go to apply for a job at the UN? I am really interested in pursuing a job there, i like there ideals in international law, international security, economic development, social progress and human rights.

I've been interested in the UN ever since Kofi Annan went in office as Secretary General of the United Nations 10 years ago, and now Ban Ki-moon as the Secretary General.

Okay, stay with me, because this is a long situation, but I really need advice. I have been working at my college newspaper for three years, including two years as editor. In my fourth year, i was burned out and decided to step down to managing editor. In the past, when an editor has stepped down to managing editor, they have still received 20 hours a week. But my advisor cut my hours to 10 hours, which is not enough to pay my bills or save for an anticipated move. I have poured my flesh and blood into the paper, and then I feel like the advisor, who I was close to, completely screwed me over. She always says that the paper is not a "charity org." even though I am still working way over 10 hours a week and am absolutely miserable but feel a responsibility to the newspaper and journalism. Should I just go ahead and quit or stay on despite the situation?

I am really good in physics and math and i want my career to use physics and math principles to do whatever it is that career does. I need help choosing so these are the ones i was thinking of:

Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Architect
Computer Software Engineer

Basically I KNOW that i want to be some sort of engineer/architect but i don't know what field of engineering to get into. But i have problems with each of the careers i listed:

Electrical Engineer: Mom says i won't like it because its working with things like power lines etc (I would like to build electronics so i thought this might be a good choice)

Mechanical: I don't want to work with cars and motors and things like that but i do want to build stuff or something that applies physics principles.

Architect: THE ONLY THING i can think about why i can't/shouldn't do this is that i can't draw, i mean if i had a ruler/protractor i'm sure i could draw buildings but i can't draw like an artist.

Everyone says "go to college, get an education" and I did that. Now I have graduated and have a bachelors in political science and don't know what to do. I did not really "excel" in anything, I just got the degree with a 3.0 GPA in four years and unfortunately made no worthwhile connections.

All I DO know is that I do not want to be working in a cubicle chained to a desk. Any ideas?
