Jobs for housekeepers for private families are not advertised on job websites - does anyone know how I can go about finding this kind of work? Also what qualifications etc would I need to become a childminder/nanny? My baby is due on June 24th & when my maternity leave/pay runs out I am going to be stuck for money as my partner & I cannot afford childcare & would also like to spend the first few years with my child anyway. A private housekeeper/nanny/childminder would be an ideal way for me to earn money but spend time with my child also. Can anyone tell me where I can find private housekeeping jobs or give me some ideas & also tell me what qualifications I need for being a nanny & how I would go about finding a job as one?

My friend is facing difficult times in shaping-up his career. He has14 years of IT experience. Due to some political matters, he quit from his recent job from a leadership position. Now he is finding difficult to quote the reason for his exit when he is applying for new opportunities.

Current reason he is quoting - didn't find career growth, so I left and started exploring but this is not a convincing reason based on his experiences with few employers.

It has been 2.5 months and hardly he has got few interview calls. General observation - brand value of his resume is phenomenal and the positions he handled were highly respectful but no luck

Any suggestions to handle the current situation?

I had done diploma in mechnical engineering and currently studying B-Tech final year. If v take any successful person the root cause for their success is to work in their intrested fields. Like abdul kalam, billgates, chiranjeevi, bramhanandam ar rahman, sachin tendulkar, everyone based upon their skills and hard work they came up.

I, in my diploma days used to imagine the objects, which was not possible to remaining 64 students. Toppers used to say evrybody has their skills, if v take kaushik he will get idea quickly. I used to convert orthographic views to isometric views and vice-versa. Even when one lecture was explaining a device which was in 2D, the whole class was unable to get idea of that device, i had drawn that in 3D and shown to lecturer then he appreciated me and shown to whole class and it made him easy to explain.

So i dont have enough awareness which field is there related to my skills and interest. I want to do work in the field related to my skills.

Iam a HR professional and working with a MNC firm
in Bangalore. Currently I am working in a project for which my team
manager wants the team members to stay in office beyond office hours
in the evening. Iam a family person and very clear that I cant stay
in office beyond office hours for official formal meetings scheduled
post 6:00 PM. Still there are occassions when if required, I have
stayed in office after office hours to complete my assigned task (my
personal decision) as well as if some meetings are scheduled (on
request basis).

Few days back my manager scheduled a meeting for 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
without having a concent with me, for which I declined the meeting
mentioning very clearly saying"I really apologise but to inform you
that I have my personal commitments from 6:30 PM onwards, for which
I cannot attend any meeting post 6:15 PM".
Further to my response mail, my Team Manager responded me marking a
copy to the country HR head and the whole team

There are lakhs of VRS retired people in India, who are educated, talented. In view of their age being above 50 much opportunities are not there. Are there any opportunity to further study, work, be productive and useful to the self, family, country , humanity. The employment for these people should not hinder the opportunities of younger generation. Social work opportuniites too can be a good option.

1) I classify myself as a creative person. I like to step back, look at what the results of my creativity, and feel good about the fruits of my labours.

2) I am the math/science type of person.

3) I have excellent grades, and I will be going to university.

4) I am very mentally driven and innovative. I like to think of new ideas.

5) I like to impress. This would be my greatest motivation.

Thx in advance!
