Some friends work for companies that pay from .375 to .405 per mile while the IRS allows .485. Why would a company short-change their employees?

I have to supervise this person directly.

Is it just a lack of confidence on the part of the bully or are some people just generally mean? Any pointers to help me cope would be appreciated.

My husband has a job offer In LA. They want him there in six month. We live in Florida. My parents are in their 80's and not in good health. They depend on me a lot. I work in health care as a unit coordinator, I am also worried about finding a job once we make the move. His salary will be three times larger than here. What do you think?

Hi,

I have a question about hiring foreigners. Last week, one guy applied for a position I am offering and he mentioned he is a permanent resident eligible to work with a social security #. Now then, he seems like a nice individual to hire though I have some doubts. As far as I know, some foreign fellows are able to get fake SS cards and IDs. I would not mind integrating this guy into my crew as long as he REALLY is authorized to work here in the US. Does anybody know what is the procedure to check on his eligibility to work? What else should I be aware of?

Thanks

I work for this comapny and my boss is really picky to the point that it's really annoying. for instance we have work phones and i made a couple of calls on it (not thinking) so he confronted me over it really mean to and i even paid for it it was all of 30.00 dollars. I know thier are rules but i see other people that have been here longer (sleeping on the job, wrecking work trucks, several other) my question is why am i the target and are thier any ways of dealing with this besides finding another job)

It may be me, I don't know. I've tried a lot of different approaches, but it always ends up just being easier to not try to communicate with them, but this makes my day a drag. It's been over a year now. I'm looking for a new job, but I guess I'm wanting some suggestions to make it more bearable while I'm still here.

If I am due to start a new job next month and I have already signed the contract and sent it back, am I obliged to go ahead with the job or could I withdraw before the job starts? The contract states that it is effective from 1st March, so based on these, could I withdraw from the job now?

Thanks in advance.

When I began working for a doctors office, I began working on these terms " these weeks will just be a test for us to see if your good" what that means -i wasnt really hired at the interview they just wanted me to show them how i operate in the company. The problem was I work there for 6 months and there were constantly harrassing me -saying all these discriminating words about my culture and how I dont drive a car and they would always find something to bully me about,
I have had past education background and past employemnt qualifications for the "position" but because I was European I had a less pay, as a Medical Biller, $9.00 an hour -
when a random girl came in and interviewed with the doctor and had no whats so ever expierance or education and had received $13 an hour, so I spoke up and the doctor just told me-"you can get a raise because you dont work for me long enough-when ive been there 6 months already and no sign of raise or benefits.
Also, the office manager always

I'd love you to cheer me up. The people I work with are very dull and mostly talk about work. Most of my day is spent wishing I wasn't here, and that the day wouldn't seem 16 hours long instead of eight. No-one talks unless its about work. I'm looking for another job as my sanity is now at risk.

I recently went for a job interview that seemed to go really well, however, today I've had the rejection letter. I'm curious to know where I fell short. Should I email them to find out where I went wrong so I can hopefully do better at future interviews?
