Try , try, try again there is no solution to your problem if you don't keep on trying. Contact firms which, even if they are not advertising for staff, may be interested in seeing your CV. It costs a lot of money to recruit staff and some forms put it off until it is absolutely necessary. You may be the one that they are looking for.

Why don't you try registering with a few temping agencies for a temporary position, then if you get one you can still look for a permanent position. When you register with the temping agency they will give you an interview and you could ask them if there were specific areas where you may have said the wrong thing.

I did this when i first came back to this country and I worked as a temp for three months and then I got a permanent job but with a different company, but the experience was good to put on my cv too.

I have no idea where you are so the advice I can provide is limited. Do you have different resumes for different types of jobs? Do you research companies prior to going to interviews so that you know why you want to work for them? Do you use stories to demonstrate why you have the skills required for the position? Are you respectful without being obsequious?

While you are trying to get back into the workforce, I'd suggest volunteering - using the skills you want to use in the workforce. You will pick up experience, keep your skills fresh and meet people. Plus, I'm a strong believer in kharma. You put out good energy, you'll get it back.

I work in Human Resources / Personnel. We always give unsuccessful candidates feedback on their applications (if they want it). Contact the people who interviewed you and ask them for feedback. The fact you got short-listed for interview shows you obviously interested them and they may be able to advise that next step you need to take be it training, interview technique etc.

Also, as someone who interviews regularly, I often deal with jobs where we had two or three excellent candidates we would have loved to take on and only one vacancy and it's a struggle to decide so don't presume you're automatically not good enough, you may just have been in a very skilled group!

I can get you a opportunity to make some money with catalog sales.

If you have the cash to go a few rounds in mail order you can make a good amount of money that way (I wouldn't expect any profit until the third cycle) or you could start your own on line store. or even rent a space at your local mall with the 3000 products in the catalog,

With our system you basically own and run your own business!! that means you can set your own hours, and do what you want, when you want (so long as you consider the staffing of any mall store, mail order and on line stores provide a lot of freedom!!!)

go for a job in a callcentre, it gives you time to make your mind up what you want to do. You will be with likeminded people and there will probably be different shifts available. I know some people say callcentres are awful, but banks are providing amazing packages at the moment.

Getting a job is like getting a girlfriend. You can't get upset just cus one got away. If you are worth it someone will notice. You just need to be persistent.
