My friend is facing difficult times in shaping-up his career. He has14 years of IT experience. Due to some political matters, he quit from his recent job from a leadership position. Now he is finding difficult to quote the reason for his exit when he is applying for new opportunities.

Current reason he is quoting - didn't find career growth, so I left and started exploring but this is not a convincing reason based on his experiences with few employers.

It has been 2.5 months and hardly he has got few interview calls. General observation - brand value of his resume is phenomenal and the positions he handled were highly respectful but no luck

Any suggestions to handle the current situation?

He needs to be closer to the truth in his explanation. Second IT field is saturated currently it may take awhile to find a job and he may have to settle for much less money. My friend currently lost his Job as head of an IT department due to Merger and could not find a job in the field had to go to regular management for much less money.
