work in your desired career field & make a nice salary or live forever off of SSI & Social Security (not much money but free money so you don't have to work)?

I got my college degree, & I'm receiving SSI & Social Security, but I want to work, & many people are suggesting that I NOT work. I want to be ABLE. I don't want to be DISabled & live off of a small monthly income. Also, people think it would be stupid of me to start working & lose my benefits, but SSI & Social Security are not enough for me to live off of. I get paid $730/month.

What would you do if you were in this predicament? I didn't waste 5 years of my college education for no reason, & plus, how am I gonna be expected to pay my loans back?

My husband isn't excited at the idea, but I am thinking of going back to school and re-focusing my life. I don't even know what I want to major in yet. I just know that I ma tired of working for a low wage and want to be able to do something I enjoy and feel challenged with. The ideas I love would mean 7 years of school.

I interviewed with 3 people for a job on Thursday and then was called back to meet with 3 more people on Friday. On Tuesday I'll be meeting with 1 remaining person.

Because of the short turn around time I'm planning to email a thank you note instead of snail mailing the note. I discussed this with the HR Rep and it was her who suggested sending an email instead of mailing letters.

Here's my question: should I email the thank you note to just the hiring manager or everyone on her team that I met with?

Upon graduating from college in May, I plan on taking my degree and moving from the east coast to the west, specifically Cali. It has been a dream of mine to live in California and I feel this will be the best time to do it since I am young, single and will have my bachelors degree. However I am uncertain as to where to move to in California in regards to the best place to find work. I am going to have my degree in business and would like to pursue something along those lines. Also, I am curious where the best places to live as a young male are in California, which isn't too expensive either, keep in mind I will be just graduating and still have loans to pay off. Thanks for any help...

I work in NJ. I recently was injured on my job: I was in a standing restraint with a youth and my supervisor. My supervisor failed to inform me that he wanted to "take the youth down," into a supine position (on her back), and when he went down with the youth, so did I (onto the rocks). I instantly broke my left wrist (distal radius), which required O.R.I.F. surgery. In addition, I am now out of work, on workman's compensation for the next 12 weeks, while I complete physical therapy, in order to regan use and strength of my hand and wrist.

My question is: How long does it normally take to receive compensation? I was originally told that my paychecks would not stop, and that would occur in concession with the pay schedule. However, my payday just passed, and the company failed to send my benefits.

I did contact my company, and I spoke with the claims officer, whom informed me that she would have to get back to me on Monday, in order to tell me when I would receive a paycheck.

A shoe saleman was making a sales trip in Kenya. After spending his first day walking around Nairobi, he went back to the hotel and call his boss in New York:

"Boss, I am packing up and coming home tomorrow morning. No body wears shoes here!"

Well I am very creative, (drawing, taking pictures, decorating different things, picking out colors that go together) i am good at writing...but it bores me sometimes. I like to joke around (not all the time!)

I'm not to sure of what kind of jobs are out there that I can design things, etc.

A couple of years ago when one of my daughters had just finished her training as a sister in South-Africa. I don't know what they call them here probably a Ward-manager.
She worked in a cancer-ward. One girl asked her for a glass of water and as soon as she gave it to the girl and turned around to walk out she turned looked back at the girl and the girl had passed away. Same thing happened the next night , this time an old man. Bless them all.
Do you think i am nasty not wanting her to fetch me a glass of water??

My partner is a hard-working guy and a perfectionist. When he is upset he becomes defensive and unreasonable. Often he gets mad because he thinks that people are overlooking him or taking advantage of him or slighting him in some way, when they're not. If there really is a misunderstanding and we try to make things right, he holds grudges and won't give us a break. When we have gently tried to point out that things aren't how he thinks they are, he argues that he's right and refuses to see another point of view. We'd like to work well together, because he's so great at his job, but he doesn't see how hard it is to deal with him, and after awhile we feel like giving up. But we still have to work with him, no way around it. Any advice?

What are some good 'cultural and avocational' interest to put on an applications? I know that avocational is something not related to your job. So, since it is a teaching application, I cannot write that I like to work with children or help children. I am thinking about writing scrapbooking but what are some others that I can put on the application? As for the cultural, I am a white female that lives out in the country... any ideas?

Well my manager has been telling me to get a hair cut for a while so when I do get a hair cut I tell that I got .5 inch taken off and she tells me she want at least an inch. She talked to me yesterday and she was all stupid about it and she was telling me if I dont get my haircut she doesnt want me to come in to work today and a whole bunch of other crap like saying that she doesnt want me to wear a hair net. So basically shes want to fire me. I was wondering If This was a good reason for her to fire me? What should I do? Im cosidering quitting the job what statement or reason for leaving should I write? Thanks any help needed...and please no stupid answers....
