I have a job doing "Welcome Vists" to people who have just moved into the area. I use my own vehicle and pay for my own gas. That's the least of my concerns. The lady I work for is really nice, I make my own hours, and it's a very easy job. She gives us the information to present to people. Here's the thing. We have a "meeting" once a month to get the information from her and our supplies to give out in our visits. These meetings last anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours and we don't get paid for that time. ( Our main pay is based on how many visits we do in a month). I realize that you gotta take the good w/ the bad but I feel we should get paid for these meetings. Anything that involves "work" I believe you should get paid for. Especially when the meetings are this long. I have never worked for a company big or small that has not paid for meetings. How would you feel if you went to work for 1-2 hours, or any amount of time and didn't get paid. Should I say something to her?

Is it unethacal for my company to change my commission structure because I have built a big back log of orders? In 2006 I had a very good sales year and built a big back log of orders for shipment in 2007. Now they changed my commssion structure to reduce the amount of commission I will be paid. My sales target number have remained the same as the other Sales Managers, However my commission structure was the only one that changed because of the large back log. IS a company allowed to do this?

What to say when asked why you left previous job? when the conditions of the job was unpleasant, and the management was terrible, and there was a lot of back stabbing going on in this small petty office. One day I cracked, and quit. Doesn't make me look good, but I couldn't take it any longer. Its been months, and cant find a job, its almost like I have been black listed. HELP

Would it look better on a resume to have work experience in a higher position in a small, lesser known company or in a lower level position in a large, well know company?

I am trying to decide between two jobs, neither of them are my dream job, so I am just looking for experience to make my resume more attractive in the future.

I have a friend that rents a room from his employer. He deducts $300 per paycheck for rent. On the paystub, however, it says "Charity Donation". My friend says that the boss told him that it can be deducted as rent. I'm more than skeptical (I called it stealing), but not sure how to help him. I live in Southern California.

Okay here goes.
Im 26 with a science degree but that counts for nothing in the world of football.
Im based in Singapore and we have the S-league.

Ive never been selected for a professional team and Im too young to be taken seriously as a manager but in a few yrs who can say.

My presentation skills are not the best or even near good enough. That is to say I lack charisma or human magnetism but I am working on it . Obviously having money to spend on looks will be good.

I want to try football(sports) business ideally without further studies or courses because I feel experience is the best teacher and knowledge is a poor substitute for actual experience(obviously only positive ones).

And I am struggling financially because I made a silly decision when I was younger and took advice from ppl who were unsuccessful in life. That is to say they repeatedly had lots of bad experiences but still deem themselves suitable to advice others. So I wasted my years.

...to be continued
