I have a job doing "Welcome Vists" to people who have just moved into the area. I use my own vehicle and pay for my own gas. That's the least of my concerns. The lady I work for is really nice, I make my own hours, and it's a very easy job. She gives us the information to present to people. Here's the thing. We have a "meeting" once a month to get the information from her and our supplies to give out in our visits. These meetings last anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours and we don't get paid for that time. ( Our main pay is based on how many visits we do in a month). I realize that you gotta take the good w/ the bad but I feel we should get paid for these meetings. Anything that involves "work" I believe you should get paid for. Especially when the meetings are this long. I have never worked for a company big or small that has not paid for meetings. How would you feel if you went to work for 1-2 hours, or any amount of time and didn't get paid. Should I say something to her?

Yes, we are required to be at this monthly meeting because it's where we turn in our monthy work and get new supplies for the next month.

if you attend meeting with your own will you cannot expect for further payment. but if she asked you and you attended meeting she definitely have to pay you. next time he ask to attend meeting tell her that you have other work some where else then he will come up with it is also part of your work. then you can put your complain as she should pay for the hours you attend in a meeting.

completely

this is kinda ridiculous i mean u gotta be paid on what u do. if that aint what u being paid for then that aint ur work

you need to ask her ur job role.... and like sit with her discussing what all is under u....

when she says meeting n visits say ya thats what u paid for.... and if she raises the other topic about the meeting ones u aint paid for .... tell her to even count that in...

rest i think ur job is more like relationship manager which works in corporate communication of corporates... so if u wanna switch u can try that stream too

It is not unusual.
It is not an hourly job.
You could tell her how you feel but
she will probably say it's up to you whether you want the job or not.
