I would just try and be patient - they may have had problems in deciding who they wanted, and might recall candidates to another interview.
I know that you're anxious, but I would avoid calling until the middle of the week as you might come across as desperate instead of just keen!

There are a few possible reasons for the delay. They have offered it to someone else and they are waiting for the answer back with you perhaps in 2nd place. Or they have recalled another candidate for a 2nd interview. Or they have a late interviewee that could not make, due to illness, the original date. Best advice is to sit tight and wait as your calls will not influence the decision anyway. You could also come across as pushy etc which might not be appropriate for the position. Continue with your job search as nothing has happened. Best of luck.

In my experience, if they said that they would contact you and they haven't, it's because you're "second-in-line" for the position. That means, if they definitely didn't want you then they would have told you, but they have probably offered the position to someone else and are waiting to see if they accept it before they reject you, i.e. you are their back-up in case their first choice does not want the job.
There is nothing wrong with calling them to follow up, but if you have already emailed them this morning, then I'd leave it for a bit so that you don't look like a stalker! Next time just call them and don't email first.

There is absolutely no harm in ringing them up to know your position. Most HR deptts feel very positive about this courtesy. However, it seems that they have taken a decision and all selected candidates might have been informed already. Nevertheless, you have full justification in getting the position cleared. Hence, go and ring up with full confidence. Best of luck to you.

Don't worry. It takes some organisations weeks or months to get back to you.
A couple of people I work with had interviews before this company, they were offered and accepted this job, then they heard back from the first job which they accepted, and resigned from this job. Even though they had been working for this company for 3 weeks, and they had an interview with the first company 16 weeks before.

You made contact via email, so just chill now and wait for their response. I understand your desire to know, but the ball is in their court now. Their non-response may be your answer. And if so, your impatience is not winning you any brownie points. Unless it is a sales job, where persistence is the key!
You still may hear from them so do not give up hope. After all it is the flu season and still the holiday season for those who follow the orthodox calendar.
Best of luck to you.
