Thank you everybody.
I don't mean exactly the glass ceiling, because it affects career promotion. I refer, more accurately, to the responsabilities that a woman has in addition when she is married as compared to the responsabilities a man doesn't have any more when he gets marrried, and that imply a lack of time, wage and also social reltionships for women but the opposite for men. There is a trade-off between both, in my opinion, that should be better shared.

I'd guess it's because if a man's single he's seen as not tied down and could decide to up and go easily, when he's married he's considered more settled.

A woman who's single may have the advantage over a married woman because there's most likely a lower probability of her becoming pregnant. No employer would admit to this discrimination but would chose the best candidate who'd also prove the lower risk.

IF women have small children companies think they will have to be out when their kids are sick.
Life is not fair married men are considered more stable.
Women lib has none nothing for women except give them heart attacks from stress, on some dates women actually pay for themselves. Some men are not romantic that is the problem.
Romance is different or dead now in our society.
I suppose rich people can afford romance more.
mmmm

looking good today audrey, one of my favourite pics, anyway not sure if you mean the glass ceiling for women because employers feel maternity leave will rear it's ugly head and so causes long term probs whereas men get only a week paid leave to be supportive then any extra time is at a reduced rate....is that what you mean darlink?

Men tend to be considered more secure when married, it means they have finally grown up and can be committed. Employers are terrified that women, once married will want to settle down and have babies. Personal opinion, don't take offence!
