Does anyone know anything about mystery shopper jobs seen on the internet? Are they real or is it some kind of con that asks you to pay a 'sign up fee'? There's a bloke in work who claims him and his wife do this and though they don't make a fortune, they do get paid to eat out, buy baby food (which they get to keep) petrol etc. But I'm not sure if he's genuine or just a bit of a dreamer, what do you think? Has anyone out there done this sort of work? Thanks.

Teller position. I like the bank position b'cause the hours are better. I have never worked in a bank but I have tons of retail experience. I'm pretty sure the pay would be about the same starting out. Both would have benefits (but I really don't have to use them as I'm on my husband plan). Could anyone offer advice or opinion? Thanks.

Has anyone had a job so bad before that you quitted even before u found a new job?

This is what I intend to do, and i do have enough savings to last me(in fact, enough for two years!) going without a job. And I am thinking I could get some odd jobs while looking for a new full time one( in my profession). I am not married, don't have much financial commitments, but I feel guilty of letting my family down.

But I've had enough, and needed a break. What should I do, go ahead and take the risk for once?

I was promoted at work and now am my co-workers boss. One of them is not taking this well and is a nightmare to be around. She runs to the higher uppers to report my work and what I'm not doing. When she leaves the office she slams the door. I am at my wits end. I am not good at handling this. I know if I say anything to her it will be way out of line as I tend to speak my mind and probably lose my job. Any suggestions.

me. I'm an ongoing temp, and I try so hard to make conversation where I am. In particular, there's one who excludes me all day long. I've tried, "That's a pretty umbrella. How did your appraisal go? Do you have quite a journey to and fro work?" Nothing I do works. She talks within the 'group' of other permanent secretaries. She's nice with them, but treats me cold and off-hand. Shall I just let the conversation come from her/them now, as I've tried.

Some of my colleagues have been made redundant, others have now asked if they are being considered but have been told not. Unfortunately we do not think this is true. Is our employer legally obliged to tell us the truth if they are considering us for redundancy and if so, how can it be proved, if we are then made redundant, that they were considering us at the time that we asked?

I reported this to management informally, she counter alleged that I was racist as I had previously said that I think the Uk should close its borders as were stretched to capacity. we were both suspended and I have to attend a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct next week and she is now back at work.
How can I still be on suspension and an obvious terroist sympathiser be back at work. To make matters worse she is a community worker, supporting people who have fled from war torn countries.

I sit next to a closed window, but I still can feel a draft coming through and so makes me feel cold. There are plug-in heaters at every 2 desks. I'm an ongoing temp by the way. I asked the girl next to me (permanent sec) if she wouldn't mind me plugging in the heater and she said if I did, it would blow too warm for her and said she'd turn on the main big heater instead. She went over to it and made out she had turned it on, but didn't! I would turn it on myself, but I don't know how to. I've just kept the peace and not said a word and just accepted it, but I still could be warmer. I'm having to drink hot water to keep warm. What do you think I should do?

Should employers be held accountable or liable for not practicing safe employee personal information measurements? For example, a employee works at a bank where there is heavy sensitive information.

All information is accessible to even all employees, including the employee's own files. The employee unknowingly opens a file while searching for a consumer's information from a pool search which it cross-references with a same/similar name of an another associate.

There are over 75,000 associates worldwide who work at the same company. Should the employee be held accountable for actions leading up to disciplanary action and/or termination??
