My job is hosting it's annual holiday party on December 15th. I REALLY do not want to go because first of all I don't really talk to anybody at my job and 2nd I'm giving my 2 weeks notice either a day or two before or the following monday.

How do i get out of going? We get out of work at noon to go to the party but is it actually considered to be during business hours?

I'm a junior in high school and I know this is what I want to do. Almost everything I've read has said to major in marketing. So I would like to get some advice from a real sales rep on what you majored in in college or if you even went and how you're doing now. Do you like your job? What type of personality do you have so I can compare. I'm super outgoing and energetic. I get told I have ADHD and that I'm super bubbly all the time. Think it's the right job for me? Thanks in advance :]

Ex female teacher, looking for a change. 43, honest, hardworking, good communicator, IT literate, but no experience outside classroom. Been told by one company and an job agency - not to even bother looking outside education! Very cross and depressed to be told "You don't have any useful skills in the real world!" (direct quote from agency. ) Employers would not be interested. What courses / experiences would help job chances? No - I don't expect a large wage packet when starting again. Any body else been in the same position?

It's like they judge you before knowing you. For example i haven'tt done any companie jobs, and i do't have references at all and almost nobody knows me well cause i'm a shy person. So i tell them i don't have references. And just because of that they won't hire me? Why do they depend s o much on references or resume accomplishments... I have done so much stuff and learned skills from doing hobbies and that doesn't count?

finding employment or finding a good paying job (esp. in your field of study)?
And why does one need 2+ years experience just to do office work or call someone up on the phone?
Do you think race plays a part in not getting hired? I'm a black, educated female. At my university, I worked at the library and tutored kids. I also did a three month unpaid internship at a nonprofit organization. I did a lot of volunteering at a very well known organization. I've been to about 10 interviews. All but two of the people who interviewed me were white. The only person who gave me a chance was black. But it's a temp job that doesn't pay much.
What's the point of going to college when nobody is going to hire you b/c you're not the right color or have like 50 million years of experience.
I know I sound bitter but how would you feel if you spent so much money and time for nothing. There are people out there who are only highschool grads but are making twice as much as me. Agree or disagree?

Look I admit it has problems, but I am regularly able to take advantage of people who are not familiar with MLM. But the more you see people answering questions pointing out all this stuff that is wrong with it the harder it is.

I can't even spam in here anymore without most people knowing what is up. No one believes I am making $50,000/day anymore because some dummies have taught them to ask more specific questions. I don't know how much volume I do. Who cares! I am rich. Just sign up.

Anyone else having this issue?

Before I say anything please note: I'm a male. I'm trying to find work as a manager / or fall back: bouncer position at a strip club in Tampa, Fla. I'm trying to figure out how to get a job working at a strip club / private club.

I do not want a job simply so I would hang out with naked woman all day. (In fact most bouncers or managers hardly interact with the girls while they are naked (dancing / working the floor) I'm looking for a job because I enjoy the industry and the hours are great for me.

Please note: I'm well educated. Currently hold 2 masters degrees. I am not some high school punk looking to get into the industry.

Any ideas / suggestions would be great...thanks.

OK, I have a job where I get a good salary and I basically don't have to do anything at all, so I work on my own stuff, and take care of things like paying bills, making appointments, etc. It isn't that I shirk the work. I try to make suggestions and come up with project ideas, but my boss just says, "Sounds great," and then doesn't want me to do them, and doesn't have anything else for me to do. It's been that way for six months. Now, before that, I had a job for three years wherein I was terribly exploited and underpaid. People who did half the work I did would get paid double the amount I did. In addition, since I can do whatever I want, I do work on helping people in need through volunteering to advocate for the poor. Does that change the equation, or is it irrelevant? So, should I feel that the two situations basically even each other out?

If I'm done with my work and I have checked for errors, should I have to help my co-worker when she bullshits and takes all day to complete one task? I even picked up a couple other tasks and she was still working on the same thing. So now she calls in today and the things she needs to complete are still sitting on her desk.

its like she doesnt want to do her share of work. i used to get stuck with doing all the mail but the supv split it up so everything is eqaul. there are things that both of us should do, but i think the boss gives them to be because she thinks i am more reliable than my co-worker. I am not a kiss @ss either, but I am no fool either.

I currently work for a moving company and one of the customers that I handle filed a complaint against the company with the Better Business Bureau. She called me and told me that it had nothing to do with me. She said that I was nice etc... She even suggest that i not invest a long time in working for the company I work for. she gave me a job offer, working for her fiancee in his office as a secretary. She wanted me to e-mail my resume to her. I am trying to figure if she is trying to use me? Is she trying to get my information? Is she trying to lure me away from the company I work for and use me against them or is she being nice?
