Ex female teacher, looking for a change. 43, honest, hardworking, good communicator, IT literate, but no experience outside classroom. Been told by one company and an job agency - not to even bother looking outside education! Very cross and depressed to be told "You don't have any useful skills in the real world!" (direct quote from agency. ) Employers would not be interested. What courses / experiences would help job chances? No - I don't expect a large wage packet when starting again. Any body else been in the same position?

If you know what you would like to do, then find out what skills you will need to do it. Lots of people change careers and in today's world, it's ridiculous that someone told you that you can't do it!
If you don't know what you would like to do, then you perhaps should take a career assessment test to figure out what type of position would suit you.
Hey maybe you could become a career cousellor and put that stupid agency out of business :)

Hi there,
You should try with Penny Stocks Trading (you can find more info here: http://pennystocks.toptips.org )

Penny stocks, also known as cent stocks in some countries, are common shares of small public companies that trade at low prices per share.
I've been subscribing to this PennyStock web site for about a year now and have loved the objective advice they give. He really does look for quality stocks and I've made some pretty nice profits on a lot of his suggestions. Being still fairly new to investing I have been dabbling a lot in penny stocks to try and grow my account. I may not have a big account, but it's a lot bigger than it was a year ago. On just one of Nathan's picks this year I managed to make my investment back ten-fold! Be careful! Penny stocks are notoriously risky but if you follow the right method the risk is almost 0. I suggest to invest only little money first and then reinvest the profits. This is the site I'm using: http://pennystocks.toptips.org
Have a nice day

If you make informed decisions and approach your penny stock investments with the same thoroughness that you’d use in your other investments, you too can unlock a whole lot of profit potential. Learn here https://tr.im/N425p

It’s absolutely true that penny stock investors can make very quick gains. Synutra International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYUT) is a great example of a penny stock. This dairy-based, nutritional-products company has jumped from a little Bulletin Board operation to a billion dollar corporation. The company finally graduated from Over-the-Counter status to the NASDAQ Stock Market bringing with it 113% gains in less than two months.

This happens all the time and it’s how some of the best investors in the world became the richest investors in the world. Buying some shares for pennies on the dollar and selling at $10 or $20 is possibly the fastest way from being a hobby investor to a super investor

Become a nurse. You'd get bursuary for the time you are learning and the experience you have with children woud be of great advantage. I used to be in IT left for a year to have my baby and when I tried to get back an agency told me that I wasn't up to it because I was "out of the scene for too long" and it would be better for me to look for a lesser position such as a tea lady!!!

That made me more determined to prove them wrong, went back into IT for 6 months but didn't enjoy it (as I was working abroad for too long), so I went into nursing! I love it, it is tough, money is not that good, but it was great.

Now I'm thinking of going into teaching (ok I love learning and trying new things!). There is never too late to start something new, and as for your age, there is still 22 years of work within you!! Don't let those people put you down, if I could do it (seriously, if you knew me!!) ANYONE can!

Yes, I was a claims adjuster and tried many times to get out of the field. My own alma mater once refused to let me fill out and submit a job application because the job paid less than I was earning. I was qualified to do the job, and it had nothing to do with insurance claims. Still the school's HR rep would not even give me an application.
If you want to change careers, stick to your guns. If someone tries to "pigeon hole" you again. Ask: "Why do I feel like I am being discriminated against?" Using the d word in a non-threatening way will get their attention.
Recruiters are looking for quick turn arounds so they can earn their fees with as little effort as possible.
HR types get arrogant because people are always kissing up to them, to get jobs.
I did not find a job outside of claims, so I took early retirement. I hope you find a job soon so you can pay Social Security taxes, so I can start collecting my SS benefits.

Try penny stocks or daytrading. Even shell stocks. Daytrading takes a bit of money to start with that is why I can't do it now.

Try some penny stocks like Gameznflix. GZFX is the ticker.

Maybe the next Netflix in future. Also buy some shell stocks from shellstockreview.com

One shell stock went up over 30,000% no joke.

I figure as a teacher you have money to spare.

To be honest i ought to branch out and make your self obtainable for different occupation opportunities. It sounds like you should properly be a tad bit tender with what you do yet you're literally not satisfied. It doesnt count number how a lot you're making if you're actually not satisfied doing it...that's totally no longer worth it. I basically were given my Masters in criminal Justice and without actual field journey my professor received't enable me prepare adjunct. I did an internship for one 12 months yet maximum of my journey is in retail through administrative responsibilites. It sounds like you've an outstanding head on your shoulders so purely you are able to make the right selection. Take a probability! branch out
