I currently work for a moving company and one of the customers that I handle filed a complaint against the company with the Better Business Bureau. She called me and told me that it had nothing to do with me. She said that I was nice etc... She even suggest that i not invest a long time in working for the company I work for. she gave me a job offer, working for her fiancee in his office as a secretary. She wanted me to e-mail my resume to her. I am trying to figure if she is trying to use me? Is she trying to get my information? Is she trying to lure me away from the company I work for and use me against them or is she being nice?

Anyone could only guess however I would tend to follow your suspicions and tend to believe she wants insider information at the very least, if not seeking your personal information for what ever reason. Based only on what you posted I would politely decline the offer if it were me.

Hard to decide that. She could be trying to get your information from you. I don't see why she would just find someone "off the street" (not that u are, just mean someone she knows nothing about or that has applied for the job) and ask for them to be their husbands secretary. I wouldn't do it until the whole lawsuit is over. Or did you do anything wrong or something while with the moving company. Up to you, but def. sounds like she is using you or wants ur information.

As an employer myself, it sounds like you might get involved in a conflict of interest if you take her up on the job offer and she continues to sue the company you are currently working for. If she really wants you to work for her, the offer will still be open after the law case is settled. But I would be very wary of getting involved before then.

Check out the company first...but we do that...if we see someone on the street or at another business that is just too good to pass up, we've offered them jobs before....good help is hard to find. I don't think it's as sinister as people think though.

I wouldn't touch that offer with a 10 foot pole....stop communicating with her....she has her own opinions about the company, that does not mean that it is a bad company. I have lots of bad opinions about Microsoft, and look at them!!!!!

I would think long and hard about this.

It sounds a bit strange. She does sound like she is trying to use you.

Don't do it!

Does it sound like a job you would like to do? If so, then go for it. You don't really have much to lose.
