I haven't actually been offered the job, but I want to be prepared for what might be a difficult situation if I am.

I've done the 1st and 2nd interviews and I should be hearing back today or early next week. When they asked me my salary requirements it looked as though they were hoping to pay me a less than I'd like. If I were to be offered the job, how would I go about negotiating?

I hate talking money, but I really think they should understand that it would be difficult for me to leave my current job for what would amount to a bit less money (although the base salary would be higher, my current job pays a lot in bonuses) considering that I am not changing industry or job type.

What could I do about this? I really do want this job but I have to be responsible about my finances too.

I have lots of college hours, but haven't graduated, and actually I haven't attended for two semesters because of a death in the family and we had to move! I'm not working either, just a SAHM! My husband works full-time, but doesn't has his foot down w/that job. We're also not paying rent (living with mom) I got a job offer at a life insurance comp. as a sales manager trainee!! With a potential income of 60k+! That means we'd have to move again, he would have to find another job, find a baby sitter, and it would be lots of hassle! Which is a smarter move?

I'm recent graduate and have been looking for jobs lately. When I received calls from recruitment agencies, I was asked about myself, my work experience, my preferred working places, etc. Should I treat those questions as if in the telephone interview? Why are they asking those questions again since they already have my CV? How should I answer those questions in the best way?

Thanks for any advice

I enjoy making greeting cards, photography and I have thought about going to school for hair stylist, massage, driving a 18 wheeler, teacher, real estate lic., plumber. I need soemthing exciting.
I want something that I can make good money and not work 60 and 80 hours a week. I know there is not an easy solution.

She sent her CV to this agency called "Leadwell International Manpower Services" and I was wondering if you guys can tell us something about this agency, since she doesn't want to be victimized by illegal recruiters. you can also give personal examples, anonimously, of course. :) i know this is a lot to ask but we just need to know a few details in order to avoid being duped.

thanks thanks thanks! take care!

I work in an emergency room as a healthcare tech. I am currently a senior in college majoring in sociology. I am still under orientation with my 90 day mark approaching december 28 of 06. My rate of pay is 11.38 and I work nights 3 days, 12 hr shifts which give me a 1.75 shift differential, and an extra dollar for weekends which I work both days every weekend. I make about 1.50 more than my other co-workers. However,I am a single parent of three and still dependant on the government to feed my family. I would like to be self suffient for my family and I need as much money as I can get. How can I communicate my needs of more money to my employer as a single parent, good worker? When should I expect a raise working in such an enviornement,(after all I am assisting in saving someone's life at times). When I graduate should I ask for more money. As a CNA how do you get more education that increses your worth w/o becomin a nurse? Please address all questions.

I work 12 hr nights, how can I explain to people who call during my sleep hours that I work nights and need my rest. What kind of a message do tyou leave on the phone so they quit calling and waking me up. I only got two hrs of sleep b/c of the phone ringing yesterday. I do not turn off the ringer b/c I have kids who are out of the house during the day, or in case of emergencies. I had 26 new messages yesterday and each time the phone woke me up.

Company A: I've been working here for 6yrs, hourly wage, NO benefits, but good company pension plan, 3 weeks paid vacation. My work hrs are from 10:30hrs-19:00hrs (no traffic), travel time is 25 minutes (no bridges to cross). My job is basically call taker and a lot of data entry. I get along with my co-workers and my boss & I get along well, maybe because we have the same b-day.

Company B: A week ago, offered me a position with benefits (no pension plan) and a promise for the same hourly wage and an increase after 3 months, no annual raise but a promise for bonus base on my productivity, no guarantee. My hours will be from 8am-430pm, travel time is 30-40min (1 bridge to cross), my duties would be the same, don't know about my co-workers yet, but the supervisor & I used to work together 8 yrs ago.

I have worked for 5 years at my career and the last two have included extra duties which include team leadership and management. Money is not good. I am only getting a "bonus" which works out to be 1.3% of my annual salary. I have worked so hard that I feel myself working into an early grave. I have tried to get out of it, but my boss won't let me go. I just don't know what to do???
