I started a new job a few weeks ago and last thursday I was talking to my supervisor's supervisor trying to make small talk when she said her stomach was hurting. i asked her if she was pregnet and she said NO!. Oops! She's not fat but her stomach pocks out like she is. Since then she's only been eating yogurt for lunch.

Approx. 40 employees in a personnel business. Employer wants no discussions for holiday event planning or for anyone to wear any holiday attire. Our normal dress policy is "business casual". Our company is located Ohio.

I have hyothyroid issues and a few weeks back got very jittery and emotional. She was in my face every second and I broke down and cried. We had a meeting with our HR person and worked things out. Today she asked if my doctor would send a leter explaining my problem. Stating, "It would be better for you". I asked if my job was on the line and told no, performance was great.

I called the doctor, then I thought, wait this is private information, she has no right to ask. She can't use it against me.

Can she? Why would she want that information if my performance is great.?

Help?

Does anyone else find the people who they work with are not potty trained?

The toilets in my last work place were bad, but in my new place of work they are worse.

For example;

Toilet seats covered in pee.
Floor covered in toilet paper and water.
People talking on mobile phone in next stall.
Benches covered in water, soap, hair, dandruff, make-up.
People flushing tampons, tampon applicators, pads and pantiliners.
People not flushing the toilet with lots of toilet paper or 'waste' sitting.

The worst examples;

Tampons hanging from the door locks.
Balls of 'waste' on the floor next to the toilet.
Menstrual blood smeared all over the toilet seat.

It's not like this all the time granted, but pretty shocking when you do go to the bathroom and find this sort of thing!!

Toilet horrors are far too common in work place, in public toilets it is half expected, but where you work isn't far off where you work, why the hell are people so disgusting?

Not cruddy $4.50/hour jobs. I mean like, $6, $7, or $8 (or higher) per hour. Any ideas? Around here, 'real' work places only hire 14+ years of age. Heck, they don't even have to be jobs. They can be anything that brings in money.

I had an interview about 8 weeks ago for a part-time position. Two weeks later I called and they thanked me for calling to inquire about the job, but that they had put a slight delay in the interview process to hire for more pertinent positions, but that they would finish the interviews up soon. About two weeks after that I emailed asking again about the job. I received a reply that I was still being considered for the position and that it hadn't been filled yet. They send emails when the position has been filled and I haven't received one so I"m assuming the job hasn't been filled by anyone yet.

I dont' want to continue to pester the lady I had the interview with, but do I contact her again. If so, how should I contact her this time and what should I write/say? Please give some advice I really dont' want to mess up the opportunity if they are still considering me! Thanks everyone!

Hello. Long story short, I know new grads looking for work have it difficult. I went to a good school in New York City and graduated in January of this past year with a Business Undergraduate degree. Since then I been trying to find a respectable, full-time position with benefits and a salary of around 30k. Nothing too big, and definitely not asking for much.

I been on the job sites monster.com, yahoo! hot jobs, aol/career builder site, craigslist.org, and recently regionalhires.com. I know some people have mentioned to try out a temp agency. I applied to around 10 good ones in the City and only got one call back.

Basically, my question is how, if your in my current situation, dealing with unemployment? What job sites are you currently using? Have you gotten any interviews from these sites? Also, if a temp agency was used in the past, which one did you find some success with?

Thank you to all who repsond. We'll all get a job soon!!!

I'm looking into a career at Target. However, before I do, I was hoping for some info on the sort of wages I can expect to make. I understand talking about salary is taboo, so I'm only looking for a generally close range if you aren't comfortable telling me specifics. I'm interested in learning what Team Leaders and Executives might make. Thank you for your help with my career!

the reason they fired me was because of a background check. one of three they had run since ive been working there. the reason the bad check came back is because i have a felonly from ten years ago. they said the reason they fired me was because i did not put it down on my oringal application. when i asked the orginal manager that at the time hired me about the felonly at the time he hired me. he told me that if it happend over 7 years ago that i didnt have to put it down. I was not trying to hide anything. i told the manager that hired me up front before i was hired that i had this felony and he is willing to testify to this. is there anything i can do about this?
