Let's say that you won enough money that you never had to work again, assuming that you managed your money wisely. With that being said, what things would you do differently at work? Would you outright quit, or would you have fun with it now that it didn't matter whether or not you had a job? What are some of the more interesting things that you'd do?

I'm looking for a checklist on what type of professional clothes women should have--like a black skirt, black pants, suit, etc...something that I can go through my wardrobe and check off, then over time, buy what I need. I'm seriously lacking in dress clothes and will need them. My previous job was jeans and khaki's and now I'm in suits and professional dress. HELP!

and why would you be that way? you can be open about it here. Most 30's workers probably won't retire from where they work now.

I have been working for a company for over a year, and this past December they told me that my position was being consolidated to another province. They have offered me a decent severance and retention bonus. But I need to find a new job, I have just over 2 weeks left, and my boss tells me that I should not be going to interviews during work hours, only on my lunch and after work. the corporate boss said that they were more than compensating for my loss, and I should not be looking for work at all until my term is up. This seems unfair as they are putting me out of work, and most places that I could go for interview will only do so during working hours. What should I do?

I want to change shifts. Been there 5 yrs and this would be the 2nd time I asked. Boss wants me to sign a paper saying I can't ever ask again. other people have changed shifts on numerous occasions and didn't have to sign anything. I heard though that some had to.... So some do and some don't. How legal is this?

My boss has shared email with his permanent secretary (I'm a temp) and he asked me to print off the first 8 of his (I didn't even know it could be shared with someone else). I printed off all the secs ones instead and not his and it was all to do with the canteen's menu for the day and cheap theatre tickets. I feel soooo stupid! He must think I'm so daft. What excuse can I give him to say I printed the wrong ones off? Shall I tell him I was tired, or what? Please?
