I always want to do my best, although that's not always easy. You may need references from your current employer or co-workers to get another, better job, so it makes sense to work hard and leave a good impression. It you're a screw-up at work, it will be harder to get a better job.

I absolutly HATE my job right now also. Can't even describe the stupid irresponsible pp I work with. I also am a server, so the pay can suck so horribly for the stress level. However, I am taking classes at a community college (to stay in field, but maybe management). AND I found 3 workshops- 1) Resume Building 2) Job Search and 3) The Interview. You didnt give any info on your situation, but lemme tell you, once i started taking steps to GET another job, I INSTANTLY felt better. Monday I actually thought "I cant do this ONE MORE DAY" but Weds, I sailed thru the day knowing I had first workshop last night. DONT quit your job, but start taking steps to find a new one & you should feel better. I know I do. And the secret laugh inside [ha ha i'm outta here, suckas] is just fun! GOOD LUCK & DEEP BREATHS

You should always do your best no matter what. If your best is bull***, then you should expect to ALWAYS get bull*** pay. If you are better than bull **** pay, then it should be recognized and you might get paid more.
If not, at least you will get a good reference for being a good worker when you go apply for a better job.
I think that attitude sucks and not only are you ticking off the people you work for, you are also ticking off the people you work with weather you know it or not!
Just do your best and everyone will be happy-including you!

Always do the best you can in a job. It might not always seem like it but usually someone notices this and it may lead to better things eventually and if not then at least you can hold your head up high knowing you are giving all you have. I have worked with a lot of people who think they are underpaid and under appreciated and they stick out like a sore thumb because they feel they don,t need to work hard because they are so poorly treated.

My father once told me when I was 16 and working at McDonald's that whatever job you have right now is your career for the moment, and you should give your very best and take that career seriously. Every job is a stepping stone to the next. Do your best and build relationships because it's all about who you know in the career world, and you never know who may be the link to your next opportunity. My father's advice has stuck with me throughout my life, ultimately to my very successful career right now!

do your work the best you know how even if the pay is not to your satisfaction anymore. if you are not happy, you can always go look for another job. dont destroy your reputation, just because the pay is lousy.
