I went for Psychology. I went back to school a couple years later for Education and just graduated. I didn't feel pysch. gave me any direction. I wanted to be a social worker but then when I got a job on a psychiatric unit and saw what social workers did I decided it wasn't for me. I went back for education to be trained in a field. I am still not sure teaching is right for me but I am glad I have the degree and the opportunities that it provides. You can find a teaching job in many states in th US easily, I figure I can travel overseas if I want to someday and other fields welcome those with teaching degrees.

Majored in physics. Planned to go straight through and get my Ph.D by the time I was 25 and then do research somewhere involving either saving the world or destroying it (whichever....). Ended up working for and with the FAA as an engineer for 14 years. Eventually went back to school and got my MBA. Now I'm working for a MUCH better gov't agency, but doing analyst stuff.

The best part of my FAA career was getting to travel and do lots of hands-on field work, and on very specialized systems and equipment. The worst part was that the FAA sucks big hairy dog balls.

I have a bachelors in Business with an emphasis in law. I am not working in the law field now, actually I am in insurance. A huge difference! Technically I am still in business so in some ways I am using it. The best part is having so many things on me, being trusted to take care of so much, and being able to prove myself.

I went to college to be a teacher. I have been working as a teacher for 30 years. The best part of teaching of course is the children. When they learn new things you can see the pride on their face.

I went for business, but took some psychology courses to help understand the big picture in marketing and purchasing. What makes people buy what products, etc., but then changed my major to psychology with a minor in business. I'm semi-retired now, which only a select few patients who I don't think are ready to be on their own just yet and I own a retail business and a web-based retail business. I feel I was very fortunate.

Spanish and political science. Being fluent in Spanish has opened many doors, offered me many career opportunities, and best of all, enabled me to converse with and understand Spanish-speaking people from many cultures.
