With more pay comes more responsibility. Managers have to answer for the employees under him/her. Managers have to cover shifts, keep track of numbers daily, monthly, quarterly and tend to work longer hours.
It depends on the field a manager is in. Fast food vs. Insurance managers have different responsibilities and challenges.

My husband and I manage apartments and I have to say that it's hard to be in charge, but if you can handle the presure, then people will respect you and I do feel like being the manager, I have a very good job. I would say one of the best.

Depends on the field of expertise and the level of management. You get paid to have more responsibility, but obviously you also get the chance to delegate. however, you can't alwasys trust your staff to do the best possible job (I said ALWAYS), so there are some times that you can get your **** on the line cos ultimately, it comes down to you.

Saying that, *I* wouldn't want MY manager's job at the moment, but i would think my assistant would quite like mine!

absolutely not.

The manager is automatically hated by at least half the employees for just doing what they are suposed to do...manage their people.
