When you come across this question on applications it stumps me as to what to put if it is somewhat of a career change and or location change. eg....
If I am looking to change locations East Coast Canada to West Coast Canada - and looking for an Asst Management position or Dept Head position of a large retail chain - how do I know what to put as wage/salary compensation expected - when I don't know what that company pays normally?? You don't want to undercut yourself but you don't want to outprice yourself either.

I am looking for a new job after I got my MBA. It would also be a career change. So my previous salary become an unfair reference point to a potential new job. When asked at interviews/application forms about current or previous salary information, how should I answer? And what's the potential employers impression if you do not give them your salary history? I also heard that it's against the law to ask about past salary. Is it true?

I had worked as a nurse and also a hairdresser but I don't want to do either of those jobs. I've been appling at all kinds of places but most want an extensive work history with references from at least four of your prevoius jobs and two of my last four had the business close. The jobs before that were at least 7-9 years ago. I'm at a loss here. I want to work with people and do something I enjoy but nothing seems to be happening with all my applications. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I am going through the job interview process, and luckily I almost always pass through the first interview, but on the second interview (which is usually the final one), I keep getting rejected, resulting in a "sorry we chose the other candidate" letter.

What are some tips on passing through the second interview to successfully land a job?
Please help me getting hired.

Thank you so much.

Hi bit of a long one. I have worked for the same company for 8 yrs, I have had 8 months off with clinical depression. I am going to easy my way back to work, with employers help, but there was mention of a new contract. I really dont want to give up the contract I have as there are benefits and bonuses that I beleive will not be on the new one. Also I will be starting off on 14hrs, and they avoided the question of getting back to my original hours, if I signed a new contract, I would loos the security of the old one, hours as well as benefits, which I do not expect now, but would do once back to normal hours. Can anybody help please.
