May be ideal for her. Totally legit company, instead of outsourcing to India for order takers for companies like 1800Flowers and the like, they have people at home act as their client's customer service agents. Basically, she will be taking catalog orders and doing customer service. It pays about $10 an hour and is easy. She does have to stick to her schedule though - its like having a regular job, she can just do it in her PJs.
BTW - a second phone line is very inexpensive; mine costs me about $10 extra a month with Sprint.

There are online transcription jobs from lawyers, there is Mary Kay, there is creativememories.com, if you know who to write well, you can get sponsers for an online blog. Or you can buy things from Ebay and turn around auction them off again for more. I have a friend that makes almost 2 grand a month doing this. The hours are his own, and his wife's job covers his bennies.

First inventory what skills she has. Then offer up ideas on presenting them to local businesses. As an example, if she's a good baker, let her contact as many businesses (all sizes) and let them know she can do a monthly service where she brings the birthday cake for all of the employees who will be celebrating their birthdays that month. She supplies the cake, napkins, forks, cups etc for one fee. The best selling point is that she cleans up afterwards.

well actually i have a few things in mind she could try maybe designing clothes, drawing pictures maybe even of the baby and selling them on line, she could write songs, she could write a book like a novel baby books to help new parents like yourselves.
or even just little short stories 5 year old like to read generally about animals and magic. also she could even write poems and sell them on line.
