My brother is a convicted felon. So, I understand your difficulty in finding work. When you go in for a interview, ask the interviewer for a chance to explain what happened. Be sincere and honest about your life. Do your best to explain that you feel bad about what you did, but now you are ready to move on with your life. You are probably going to have to do this a bunch of times before you meet a employer that is sympathetic. But remember, there are a lot of people that have relatives with criminal histories. Trust me, they understand that perfectly good people make stupid mistakes in life. Just be honest and don't give up. I promise you that things will get better eventually.

You did not mention if you have any job skills.
Some areas of the country have such a labor shortage, they do not care what your background is, they just need people to fill positions...Washington DC for example....we had a construction project at the capital bldg. and we had a hard time staffing it because 90% of our employees had a record and could not pass the security clearance.
There are many companies out there who will hire you if you are upfront and honest. I have to tell you as a manager myself, I will hire someone a lot faster if they show some self respect, are dressed decent, clean shaven, and show manners. I couldn't believe the men that would come into my office looking for a job, and they would smell like beer and body odor, use foul language and called their previous boss a butt head.
employers are willing to train someone if they show ambition and manners, so keep that in mind when you are job hunting...Good luck

you could lease a cab daily. once you learn the ropes you can earn about $150/day or more, after subtracting the cost of the 12 hour lease and the gas.and it's a cash business, so uncle will have to accept what you report.
