I am writing an essay on this for my class and would like to get any information you may have on this subject. My thesis statement will be women receive less training than men but are held to higher promotional standards than men. Any help would be appreciated. I realize I have posted this question already I just wanted to know if anyone else had anything to add about this issue. Thanks!

My favs:

"She knows so little about so much."

"One day, she's going to slam cookie dough into a monitor trying to get it to work. Trust me."

"She really, truly, deeply, and honestly doesn't care."

"Last one in, first one out."

"She's *fully* qualified...on paper."

"I'll ask if she knows anything about...oh nevermind."

I have been an outstanding performer in work (Corporate Finance) and I am able to report to the President and COO on certain projects. My boss wants all the attention so he tries to make it seem that I am doing a very small role in the projects, even if I am the one who does everything from start to finish. I really need some great advice.

I was just given a verbal warning at work that I am not meeting my stats. I just wonder if anyone out there has had any experience with this sort of thing and if they have been fired or what has happened in the case where this has gone on. Thanks for any input you can give!

I will start going to voice over school this year so that I get the training to change my career. For those of you who are voice over actors, what is this life? I'm so curious to find out.

My husband wants to be a truck driver. He is looking into Swift (since they will pay for your CDL if you are employed with them for a while). The nearest location for them is about two hours away from where we live will that be a problem? The training is offered in Texas (our state) so he can do that. I know he will be gone for weeks at a time he wishes to do OTR. We have a small child so a team isnt an option for us. I hear people say there is good money if you are willing to be gone long periods of time, does anyone know how much is good money? Any information at all about the industry would be great. Thanks to everyone who answers.

I have applied for a post as a teacher. Some days later I was summoned for a test, which consisted on 'teaching' the school director a small class. During the test he talked to me, he pointed some of my mistakes and I made my best in order to correct them and improve, etc. Anyway, at the end of the test he told me "I have to place you with the beginners, so you won't be running the risk of teaching students who have had better teachers. Otherwise you will be having trouble with your students". I was shocked. As I want the job very much I have not said anything, but I am on the verge of calling him and telling him a few words. I guess that I was applying for a job, and that was it, I have not told him I was perfect, nor that I was what he had been looking for. As a director, should he not be the one to say if I was a good teacher or not? And if I am not, why just not deny me the job at once? I guess he was very unprofessional and rude. On the other hand I NEED the job. What should I do

I joined a company two months back which opened a new office in India..I am one of their first employees and the company is just 3 months old in India. We are a small team and a good one. But the issue is now, I have another offer from another company offering more than 80% over my current salary.

I am not in love with my existing company for not to consider the new offer, but some where in me I am soft in ignoring human values and consider it unethical to dump my existing company.

But the main issue is, that, iam just building my career and it will be a bumper to start with a good big pacakage (the new one) so that I can set a market value for future.

Folks! help me with this rather difficult decision!!!!

I need more answers...

I worked throughout the entire pregnancy and up til now (with a now 10-month-old baby), but my baby is getting too mobile for the management job that I have. I can't keep her safe! I'd like to keep working, but from home. Does anyone have experience with legit and well-paying home jobs? I have a bachelor's too, if that helps.

I know most places, when you start, make you wait 2 weeks before your first pay check. I started working for a local restaurant and have been working for a week now as of yesterday. The thing is, is that they get paid every 2 weeks....so I was thinking, would they pay me this Monday or would they make me wait another 2 weeks!?

I have an ambition to work for the FBI as a forensic accountant. But I heard it is really competitive to get hired there and you have to be extremely well qualified.
Does anyone know what it is like to work for the FBI? How hard is it to get hired there? Are most FBI jobs dangerous jobs that require carrying and use of firearms?

Hi everyone! I currently have a BS in Comunication with a concentration in broadcasting. I was very good at it, but I don't want to be a news hound. I am sort of torn on what to do now. I considered going for a Master's degree in PR, but I really dislike the idea of shmoozing with people. I also thought about going back for another Bachelor's in accounting just because there is always a demand for them. Every personality and aptitude test I take says I am good at writing, art, helping people. I agree with these results. Any ideas as to what I can do at this stage of the game? I'm 25, so I'm realitively young and can start over. Thanks! If you yourself are in any of the careers you mention, what do you like or dislike? Feel free to vent!

I was having family problems and could not get time off. My fiancee had a drug addiction and had social services called on her while i was at work also she always lied to me. this created alot of stress on me so I started using drugs and alcohol more often to cope in my daily routines. I tryed to get time off but my boss refused to give it to me saying we were to busy, and if I could last till spring break (4 months) he would give me a leave of absence. I tried to make it through but the drug use became more and more as the lying continued and I was afraid I would lose my children.so I ended up leaving work, not quitting. I was told by my employer to go to a drug rehabilitation program. I tried to get in but was not able to because my employer would not cover it, and I could not afford it. Also I was looking after my chilren while my fiancee tried to get help3 months later I recieved a letter from work saying I had Quit Do you think I could get my job back? what should I do? any rights?
