My wife was a Sr. systems analyst and quit her professional career to stay with our kids. She started sewing custom window treatmeats, pillows, etc from the home (around the kids schedule). You can make good solid money and work when you want. It has worked well for our family.
Good luck!

Hi, I can recommend a company that works great for stay at home Mom's that aren't afraid of work. It is a company called Arbonne. You can go to http://www.wonderful.myarbonne.com and on the homepage there are some links on the right side of the page you can click on to hear about the company. I have met a young Mother that was a manager for a coffee chain making great money, but she wanted to stay home with her new baby. After working about 9 months to build her business she is making more than she was with her other job. It is possible, but it does take work. Good luck to you in finding something to be able to stay home with your little one.

Skip the home businesses like Pampered Chef, etc. You have to be a real salesperson to make a living at it. Don't respond to those ads n teh backs of parenting magazines- if it sounds too good to bet rue, it is. Some moms make lots on Ebay; you have to get really organized and maximize your child's down-time. Try teaching night classes or strike out on your own business like housecleaning, tutoring, cake decorating, or whatever you're good at. Don't rule out the prospect of part-time work; you can have the best of both worlds.

it depends on what you have a bachelors in. but one idea is being an in home daycare. you go to your local DHR and they can help you with everything you need to know. You may also want to do some accounting from out of your home. Just a couple suggestions

There's only one thing that I have found with a very in demand product and excellent strategy to start your own business and build income.
When I started looking around at various "opportunities" I found they were all the same ol crap. I then found a true opportunity with a very solid company and a product that I am very proud to promote.
