Try to be as specific without giving yourself away. At least give the industry and how long you have worked there.

My boyfriend has asked for a weeks paid holiday the third week in August as we are going away. His work has told him he can only go if all other members of staff are prepared to work 6 days whilst he's away and when he comes back from holiday he must work 14-19 days with no days off. He is a chef buy the way. I no rules are different in the catering Industry but surely this is against the law.

If I am applying for several jobs within the same company, should I email my resume once with all positions that I am applying for in the subject box, or should I email it only once? Also if they dont ask for a cover letter to be sent- shouldI send it anyway? And can I use the same coverletter if they would be saying the same things anyway? And is it okay to email AND fax your resume?

He doesn't hear from his boss for weeks at a time then he calls at 10:30 at night on a Wednesday and tells him to be at work for an overnight job at 5:00 the next morning. When they get to the motel he is told that one of the workers will have to sleep on the floor because he will only pay for one room. He has to ask for his paycheck every week or he won't get it. He is expected to work for 12-15 hours without a break. He is expected to carry 150 pound pieces of iron by himself and if he asks for help he is ridiculed. He is expected to work in all weather-snow rain hail sleet. He is not paid by the hour or by salary but by the job and his boss decides what each job is worth which figures out to be roughly 10 – 12 dollars an hour. He never knows when he goes to work when he will get home at night. He never knows from week to week or day to day how much he will work or how much he will be paid. In all, his job is a great testimonial for staying in school. Should he find a new one?

I graduated with a four year degree in marketing and business management in 1995. I bounced around in various jobs such as a cook, a waiting and salesman. I recently went back to school and received a two year degree in Computer Information Technology in 2006. I'm concerned how the 11 year string of jobs as a waiter would look to future employeers. Should I just leave the bachelor's degree off the resume since its not relevant to my current career goals?

Any career ideas that would provide good income, flexibility to raise a child, that require no college degree or that training or schooling could be completed quickly.

I moved down to Orlando to go to school and now that I am done with school I was planning on moving to NJ to be closer to my daughter. The problem is that I can't find a job in my career field or one that pays enough to support the cost of living up there. I am living with my ex-boyfriend, which totally sucks...we fight all the time and I am not happy at all. I don't want to move somewhere else locally because I will have to sign a 6-12 month lease which I can afford to break. My money is slowly going down the drain and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make some money fast, without doing anything illegal? Or even just some advice on what to do? Please help, I feel trapped.

I work at a store and customers purchase things with their debit card. Some tell me to make the transaction as debit, some tell me to make sure the transaction is ran as credit. What's the difference? What are they trying to avoid?

My boss is very strict about clocking out on time. If we work even 5 minutes over, we get written up. This is impossible when you have a customer at the time you are supposed to be leaving. I have to clock out at a certain time each night however i have to stay until my register is closed. Last night I waited 40minutes off the clock till I could leave. I am scheduled to get off half an hour bofore the cashier. The cashier has time to close her register and do what she neeed to while I have to clock out and wait. I am scheduled to get off at 6 this evening but know I will we there till 6 30 with 30 minutes of free time for my employer while I am standing around waiting. I am not actually doing anything but can't leave so I am not on my own time really. ALso my register was short last night (not my doing because several people use the register during the day and it is only emptied at closing. If I leave tonight before my register is closed, it might look suspicious.

How do I explain to them all of the gaps between all my jobs, I know most employers want someone that is gonna be with the company a longtime. What could I say to pull this off. Due to the fact I had to care for my mom I wasn't able to stay with any company for a longtime. Does that sound legit.(ITS TRUE!)
