I have a son, and am also taking care of 2 of my cousins kids (my cousin drowned in the hurricane). I need a job NOW we are facing homelessness.

I can relate to your question. I had relocated to Atlanta from Florida 3 years ago and boy it was tough finding a job. I gave it a month of emailing my resumes all over. No calls came through. I gave up after a month and moved back to New York my hometown to recover and start my way back again, this time with a better plan. I didnt give the temp agencies a chance though. Some people told me I needed to give it 6 months. My wallet did not say I had six months to gamble with so, long story short. Im coming back to Atlanta soon. Try the Temp agencies, they allow you to get around and meet new people in the industry of you interest and networking with real people face to face is always a winner. Good Luck

First of all, I hope someone else reported the jerk in the first answer for his language in the last six days. If not, I did.

Even though the federal government has abandoned the Katrina Survivors, there should be agencies available in the Atlanta area to help you stave off homelessness.

To help you find unemployment I would suggest expanding your search by using a site such as Indeed that pulls in the jobs from major search engines including Monster and Craig's List. I have included a link to Atlanta jobs of Data Entry.

Another key is keeping organized. A great free tool for organizing your Job Search is Job Search Log. It tracks your jobs, ads, and allows you to create and send customized letters for jobs you enter into their system.

Best of Luck for your Job Search and expanded family,

Michael
