ok, never heard of the store so this is just general advice!
1. Watch other people getting the carts and see where from.
2. A floor sweep is probably just a broom.
3. Check with a manager about time off, dont be embarrased, everyone always wants to know about holidays!
4. Next time you speak to a colleague at work, just say hey someone offered me a tip for helping with their bags, didnt take it as im not sure on the policy here. That way, you wont get into trouble but should get an answer.
5. Always tell someone when its break time, they may need to get someone to cover your station or just want to know where you are. Also its polite!

Lastly, there is no reason why you should not be getting this basic information whilst in training, you really need to find someone who you can talk to about stuff and if not you should maybe go to the manager about this. Also, noone knows everything when they take a new job, give it time and try not to worry! Good luck!

1. The carts should be gathered once an hour when it's slow, and when the cart rack becomes low when it's busy.

2. A floor sweeper can be a push broom that has two "sweepers" on the front, kind of works like a Street Sweeper, or, it could be a floor Zamboni.

3.Usually, 2 weeks in advance is what employers will require, and remember, requested time off is just a request. They are not obligated to give you that time.

4. Tips are probably not allowed. Check with your manager to be sure, but tip acceptance is usually forbidden, unless no one sees you take it.

5. You need to tell your manager or a co-worker in your section when you go to take a break in case you need to be found (i.e. and emergency situation arises.)

These are questions you will have to ask a manager or someone of higher authority. There are no general rules that apply to all stores. Each store will have specific policies and procedures that they follow. You should not feel ashamed to ask these questions. They are legitimate questions that you need answers for in order to do your job properly.

You need to ask your boss what is expected of you then follow his directions. Good luck with the new job.
