Careers & Employment - June 2006

I'm currently self employed. I just recieved a job offer for a big consulting firm to come in as one of their project managers. They offered 120k/year, benefits, relocation, 20% bonus etc... which is all in all not that bad of an offer for the current market but near the same time another client offered me a 2 year contract at $130/hr (260k/year). How do I decline the first offer while still leaving a good impression and keeping the door open for future work with that company?

examples or past stories would also be helpful

My Boss told me that he has no work for me...
isn't that ridiculous? I work for this company for just 5 months ( 1 month away to get my benefits)he gave me 1 week to look 4 something else...should I fight it ? collect? or just find another job?

i cannot stand my boss as he keeps humilate n scold me for no reasons. basically have to do everything; delivery, setup of av equipments, tearing down of av equipements, staying up late, waking up early, no ot, no bonus, no 13mth. oni 1.8k per mth.

The clients are ok, but the problem is the staff. I can't get with them and they are indisciplinate. I need a LAW to give them so that work would be fun.

I was a courier in a large city, I loved that job like no other. I did not make enough to survive and the wear and tear on my car was getting to me. I am curious how many others had 'so called' lowly jobs, but loved them and wish they could go back to it.
