I feel like crap...it's a horrible feeling when your company tells you that they don't need you anymore... =( I'm 28 by the way...

Your best bet is to forget about that place and look for another job. You will probably enjoy it more and it will be a better place to work. In the mean time, sign up for unemployment, so you will have income while you look.

Depending on where you live, you can likely be terminated for any reason or for no reason - that's what an "at will" employee is. If you are terminated because of your membership in what's called a protected class, you do have recourse - this is things such as age or race. But even that can be real hard to prove that that was the reason, and in your case you're definitely not in a protected class due to age.

It's not necessarily anything you've done wrong. A business owner can't pay someone if they don't have enough work for them to do.

Look for something else right away, but apply for Unemployment Compensation in the meantime if you're eligible.

I hear ya. It sucks. Since you were fired, file for unemployment. You can do it online...through your state's official govt. web site. You'll have to answer some questions and then the Unemployment Office (SRS?) will ask your former employer questions and decide whether or not you will be able to receive unemployment compensation. You'll have to actively search for jobs and apply to at least 2 a week, I believe. Each state is different perhaps.

Good luck!

Prolly not. You are considered an at will employee, your boss can release you if he chooses. However, if you find some reason, such as harrasment, leagal stuff like that. If you think you were wrongfully terminated for one of those legal reasons, then do it.

I would take you package and find something else cuz he is going to be a jerk anyway.

Find another job. It's the politics of working for corrupt company.
