My company is giving a year end bonus for 2007 on Dec. 31. I will not be eligible per company policy as my last day of employment is Dec. 26. I understand this, but my company refuses to show me the written policy. What rights do I have to obtain a copy? Please be as specific as possible so I may have some leverage with my request to human resources.

Hallo everyone!

I am now translating into English the slogan of a Russian company that chiefly deals in production of wiring harness for automobiles. The company is going international - they are going to sell their products in Europe.
The original Russian slogan can be translated "braiding of energy" (because a pack of wires and cables are normally braided together to make a wire harness, and a wire is obviously an energy conveyor).
I think that this "braiding of energy" sounds stale and I have made up several variants of the slogan in English.

Can you choose one or two you like best? A brief grounding will be highly appreciated, too!
P.S. if you don't know what wire harness is, you can have a look at this picture: http://www.zr.ru/img/18907_3.html or look it up in google pictures.

yesterday i was fired from my part time job at a bookstore. the reason that was given was that i was a few minutes late three days in the past two weeks and that i called in sick twice in the past two weeks. i have been dealing with many health problems lately including depression and a neck injury and had valid reasons for my absences. i offered to get doctors notes verifying my absences but i was not taken seriously. also, the enforcement of their policies is not equal. i know of employees who have worked there for a long time and flout the rules regularly and have not been reprimanded. i told thisto my manager and she said that many people have been reprimanded and fired in the past few monthes but that its not made public so i would have no way of knowing. but i have spoken to current and former employees who say differently.
what would you advise doing? i don't want to continue working there after the way i've been treated. could any legal action be pursued?

Hey guys, help my friend please! About 5 years ago, she was renting an apartment. The owners changed hands and the apartment was bought by a new landlord. Neither of the landlords left a forwarding address to remit rent payment until 1day before the rent was due. The rent was mailed and somehow it got lost in the postal service -according to the landlord. He filed for eviction before introducing himself or sending a late notice. He agreed he filed too hastily and since he had the check in his office, he droped the case. She is looking for a house, and she just came crying to me the lender says the court filing is on her credit. She says it's not on her credit reports so she does not even know where to begin to dispute it. I looked at her credit reports and I do not see anything about a judgement or court either. Where is the lender seeing this information? I don't know what to tell her. Will this affect her credit? If no court ever occured, what can she do to rectify this situation?

Sleezy employer asked the managment in this mornings meeting to forego this weeks paycheck because they supposedly are having a hard time coming up with all of payroll this week 5 day's before christmas and the week that i'm suppose to go out of town for my weeks paid vacation that I schedualed months ago.
I have no intentions of letting them keep hold on to this weeks paycheck for a few reasons.
1. I cannot NOT have it this weeks check, I've specifically set it up so this paycheck goes to my vacation. If I don't get it I can't go tonight.
2. I'm not letting them set a president in keeping my money when they have money management problems.

So what legal recourse do I have if they don't give it to me or if it bounces? Of course as soon as I get it in my hot little hand its going to get cashed, but what about next weeks paycheck what if I don't get my vacation check?Someone please advise on what can be done for protection till I locate a new employer?
What options do I have?

I have been considering doing a short sale. But I know if I owe $358 and I get $300, then I owe taxes on the $58 difference because the bank considers it a gift. If I do a foreclosure, will I have to pay taxes on that?

Hi All,

I have been in a 3-month long interview process moving through 5 steps. I was informed last night that the company had to "conduct a background and reference check before extending a final offer". Does this mean I got the job? Should I be concerned on what a background and reference check will do? It was unclear in the employer's tone over the phone and it wasn't clear on whether it was official that I got the job or if I should continute to see this as another step in the process.

I want to send my friend money that he can cash and use without leaving a cash trail or ID trail that the government can track. At the same time, I want it to be safer than sending cash so that if it is lost, I can get a refund. Are there anything out there that can satisfy these parameters? I've looked into money orders and blank traveler's checks but I am not sure if they fufill these preferences.

The company I ordered from sent my package to my billing address instead of my mailing address. The billing address is for an apartment complex I lived at a few months ago. I went over there, and talked to the manager. She said UPS delivered another package with mine, she signed for the other package, and not mine as I didn't live there anymore. The driver scanned both as if she had signed for both, and she gave him mine back.

I've been calling UPS for two days about this, they keep saying they will call me back and haven't yet. I submitted a lost package claim on the website, because the last time I had talked to someone on the phone, she was INCREDIBLY rude. I was being very nice, I would never be rude to someone simply doing her job, and she was very condescending and hung up on me without letting me say anything.

This is a present for my boyfriend to bring to Iraq with him, I would really love to give it to him, in person, before he leaves.

we hired this guy a year ago at our transmission shop. He was pretty bad about missing work/coming in late, etc until he got on our company health insurance (6 month waiting period) and then he just went crazy. I've checked and at no point in the last 6 months have I written him a full paycheck b/c he is constantly coming up with something that he has to go get painkillers for. We have major reason to believe he is a pill popper and he has asked other employees if they know where he can get drugs. He also never goes to the same doctor. He has missed work CONSTANTLY, but always brought dr notes.

He came in about 2 weeks ago with his arm in a sling thinkin he could actually work and draw a paycheck. Since this is a safety hazard to both him and our other employees, my owner sent him home and told him to come back when he had a dr's release on it, & not before.

Now he has applied for Mississippi unemployement saying leave of absence. yes, we made him take it. Is their anything
