I just found out that my dad payed for mine and my brothers tuition fee by charging them to his credit card and incurred circa $250,000 worth of debt through various credit cards that he's not going to be able to pay considering that his business is only source of income (personal business) is in jeopardy.

Credit card companies constantly send out notices via mail, since they cant reach us because everyone in our household changed their cell phone numbers.

Are there any LEGAL consequences that he can face such as jail time or repossessing his vehicles or house???

Thanks.

I've never worked for a equipament and leasing finance before.
is there anybody out there that can give me some good advice on how this company works?

Supervisor told me this: You have to call companies all over the city.. like make 100 calls per day and get at least 3 companies to give you their background information and then summit the information to me and see if they qualify for the loan. SO we can give them over 10,000 $ or whatever money is that they need to buy things . This people can be mechanic, work with airplanes ... and they need money to buy merchandise.

OK so is this a leasing? loaning finance?? what is this

I have Helio as a cell phone company. They accidently charged me a early termination feel that I did not owe, and time and time again I was told by them that I would not have to pay it, and that it had been credited to my account. Now they have apparently reported this amount to an outside collection agency and are telling me that there is nothing that they can do about it, even though it was there fault, they are now telling me I have to dispute it with a collections agency who has been very rude to me on the phone. What are my options, what should I do?

What if I bought something a long time ago from Wal-Mart and have used it but now it doesn't work right anymore. Will they still refund my money or give me in store credit. I don't have the original packaging, receipt, nothing. It's an electric blanket. I think there is a tag on it maybe.

I got laid off two weeks ago due to shortage in work. I will start receiving the unemployment benefits the coming week. I was scheduled to have a varicocele surgery in the first week of January. My wife also was scheduled to have an IUI procedure in late December. However, due to the termination of my health insurance I am not sure what we should do now.
Should I buy a health insurance temporarily and if so how much it will cost. Is there any other alternative in Ohio for unemployed people?
Thanks.

I am going to school at the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and I am living in an apartment near campus. I am planning on moving out at the end of December though. The catch is that I haven't found a replacement roomate yet. The OTHER catch is that I am not on the lease at all, because in Milwaukee you can only have 3 unrelated peopleliving together and I am the 4th. I let them know on November 27th that I was moving out, and they have done nothing to find another roommate. However when I moved in they did all the work of finding me as a roommate. I don't know these girls barely, and they are being really bitchy telling me I will owe rent until I find a roommate. I'm not trying to be a dick, but if I don't find one am I liable for the rent? If you need any more details to give a good answer, let me know. Thanks

I live in a large metropolitan city and I hate it! I've decided to move and I've interviewed and been offered a position with another company in a much smaller state/city.

The pay is comparable; the benefits as well. I was working with a recruiter and he pressured me into giving a decision regarding if I was going to accept the position - I did.

I have an interview scheduled with another company next week - a somewhat larger city - with comparable pay and benefits.

My biggest concern is the first place - where I've accepted - has been wonderful. They're working to find me a place to live and they've been very hospitable.

I don't have the best credit and I'm really worried about finding a place to live in this other city in a reasonable amount of time -without having to pay through the nose.

There's also no guarantee I'll get the other job - but I have a REALLY good chance.

Any suggestions? I'm really confused about what I should do - which job I should take?

1. Who to get to open one? I know I can get my local bank to open it or even my insurance carrier but are there benefits of using one over another?
2. Can I actively trade securities in the account? I guess this goes back to the first question because if the answer is yes then I want to use a service that charges the least comission rates.

Thanks.....

Would you let your pay check be taxed by 51 percent, if your recieved the following: free medical care, free education (university education included) but no taxes on food or clothing.
Keep in mind that there are countries that already do this. The Swiss, Cuba and Great Brittian have been doing it for years. They all have a lower death rate than the US.

Would you vote for it and why?

We rented an apartment in oklahoma. The terms were from july 07 to july 08. The lease agreement says the tenant must give 30 days notice before vacating. We did that. No where on the contract does it say that breaking the lease forfeits the contract but the landlord is keeping the full deposit. It does say that less than 30 days notice forfeits the deposit, but thats all that forfeits the deposit according to our lease.
Is it legal for him to keep our deposit?
