I know a lot of people who does this... I want to know what will be the consequences aside from the 1099C at the end of the year and a bad credit for 7 years.

1. They choose a new cheaper house. They get approved for 30 years fixed.

2. On the same month, they will get the car that they really like so they won't need their credit for the next 7 years.

3. They will let go (forclose or short sale) of their existing old expensive house.

4. Given: They have enough income to pay the old expensive house but choose to stay in a cheaper house. But it would be more convenient for them if they pay cheaper mortgage.

What will happen?

as you may or may not have heard, asda and sainsburys have been fined hundreds of millions of pounds for agreeing to fix the price of milk, butter and cheese years ago. The reason they did this was apparently to help dairy farmers, who lets face it, need it. But (shock and awe) the benefit never reach the farmers, instead the greedysupermarkets as usual stole teh profits!

But what i want to know is where will this money the supermarkets have been fined go to?? Surely it should be used to help farmers no? If not directly then indirectly.

I live in New York and I just started a new job for 2 months. It's a salaried job, paying $7000 for the first month and $2000 for the second. I would like to know how much state and federal they would take out my first check of $7000. Also, how much social security? I only filed for myself and I have no withholding allowances being taken out of my check. If someone can help me out with this, it would be great. Thank You!!!

I'm a co ordinator & he's my shift manager. He is not running the shift effectively but as the co ordinator it's my responsibility to pick up the pieces. When I try to make decisions, he overrides them (not all the time). When I ask someone to do something & they don't feel like doing it, they go to him with a lame excuse & he overturns my requests, which makes me look a real mug. Basically, he's a nice guy but he's too nice, spineless even. He is more interested in making people like him than making the team work properly. He isn't there to make friends when all's said & done. I have told him I want to speak to him on Monday. What should I say?

Ok, I think this would qualify as a two part question.

So i just found out that my credit score dropped considerably. I have a parking ticket in Washington DC, and a collections notice from Verizon.

My plus score dropped about 50 points. I think each of these were reported to just one of them changes were reported to just one agency each.

The question is the parking ticket, and the collections item. I was wondering how to dispute these. Should i pay them then dispute them, or dispute and try to settle.

Since one is a parking ticket, do you think the government will settle. I dont think they would, but i thought i would ask.

I would appreciate any help. I was thinking of hiring a dispute agency to help out. I found some convincing agencies online. What do you guys think?

The offer has been accepted by the seller, but it is a short sale, so it has to be accepted by the bank now and am waiting. After we get the acceptance, we are going to get the loan.

What do you think? Has the street bought the rumor and will sell the news? At the moment the market is flat, is it waiting for Tues?

I think if the Fed cut is 25 basis points we may see a sell off, with a 50 basis point anything goes, but I do not anticipate 50 points.

How many of you are aware that you can get tax write offs for energy efficient furnaces?
I am just wondering because it doesn't seem like many people know about this sort of thing.
My college instructor said that he installed a 95% energy efficient furnace last year that cost him $1800 up front. After he bought it he filled in a form and got a rebate for $500 which brings the price down to $1300. On top of this, he saves about $500 dollars a year on his heating bill.
After 3 years of owning this furnace it will have paid for itself!

Hypothetically, if you sign the removal of all contingencies, can you still back out of the deal at the last minute? For example, what if the loan gets pulled at the last minute and you already signed off on all contingencies the day before? Or, what if you don't have a loan contingency but you signed off on the Home inspection contingency and for whatever reason, something comes up at the last minute and you can't go through with the purchase?
