I live in New York and I just started a new job for 2 months. It's a salaried job, paying $7000 for the first month and $2000 for the second. I would like to know how much state and federal they would take out my first check of $7000. Also, how much social security? I only filed for myself and I have no withholding allowances being taken out of my check. If someone can help me out with this, it would be great. Thank You!!!

The combined FICA and Medicare tax will be 7.65% of your gross earnings. The amount of your Federal and State Withholding will be dependent to a great extent on your filing status and whether or not you contribute to a 401K plan.

For more specifics, check with your payroll department.
