my father and I are living with relatives and now are trying to get into a mobile home I found for $9,500. But the mobile home is about 1.5 hours where we are staying, and I am currently in college, so at least for now my father would have to get a job in that area in order to payments, because at the present time he is unemployed and only gets $700/month from retirement. They do have a hospital in that area which is hiring housekeepers, and I did an online application for him, but how can I ensure that he will get the job? It sounds like an easy enough job for someone with his experience, and he worked as a custodian for almost 40 years. What can he do now that is likely to get him hired? Because it would really be out of the way to have to go all the way down there just to visit the hospital unless it was while we were going to see the lady about the house. So whay should my father do in order to get hired now that I have his application in?

I am his wife and was advice my our financial planner to have a one million dollar policy so that I could pay off the mortgage (~350K) as well as car payments and the like. This does not seem excessive to me, but my husband is now furious. I have been married to him for nine years and he brought it up tonight for no reason.
My father, who also was a physician, died last month and left me three million dollars in a trust fund. So I have my own money, plus I have my own 401 K (95 K) and my own brokeragge account (120K).
Is my husband wrong to be so upset about a silly one million dollar life insurance policy????????
Thanks-

Need help deciding which of these 2 careers to pursue. Please give me your opinions. I have a family with young children so that is a major deciding factor for me in terms of which would be best for my family. Here is what I know so far:

Dental Hygiene
PROS- days, no nights or weekends; great starting pay; only about 2 year program; clinicals for the two years are only 1-2 days a week for only about 4 hrs which is doable
CONS- Can only work day shift, no options for working nights or weekends if needed, may be hard to find full-time employment and medical benefits; hygienists suffer from back and neck problems and carpal tunnel

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
PROS- can work any time, day/night/weekend, good starting pay, usually have medical benefits
CONS- Longer school, about 3 yrs, the first 2 for x-ray tech and the 3rd for sonography; clinicals are 40 hour weeks for 3yrs which is like a fulltime job for 3 yrs and I don't know if I can handle it or if it will be worth it.

My father took out a personal loan through a finance company last year in 2006. The finance company wanted a car for collateral and he used my car title even though the car title is in my name. He passed away in April of 2007, I can not afford to pay the finance company the payment amount they were charginghim on the loan on a monthly basis. They are threatining to take my car if I can not pay it even though the loan is in my father's name and the car title is in my name only. He did not leave a will and his house was under mortgage so there is no estate. Is there anything I can do to save MY car from repossession. I do understand that paying the bill for the loan each month is the way to do that but I recieve SSI and do not have as much income as my father had. Please help?

My assignment is to interview someone from the career that I'm interest in - which is RN. I have some few questions to ask about your job. I'd like to know what it's like being a nurse in someone view. My questions are:

What is your name? [ Don't worry, you can fake this ]
How long have you been a nurse / RN?
What are your educational background?
What are the responsibilities of your job?
What is a typical day in this job like?
What part of this job do you fid the most satisfying?
Did you always planned to be in nurse / a job like this?
What training or education is required for this type of job?
What opportuniy for advancement are there in this filed?
Is there a demand for people in this occupation?
From you prespective, what are the problems do you see working in this field?
And lastly, what special advice would you give to a person entering this filed?

Thank you - I appreciate the help.

Booted out a renter who was being a shady character. He dropped his jacket on the floor & some paperwork that was folded up in his jacket fell out. It was from my personal bedroom. I asked him to move. He is now accusing me of stealing money from him...The police came to my house to question me. He apparently has a history of legal issues but I am offended by what he did & what he has accused me of. Will never rent a room again. Any answers regarding my rights? Thanks to all.

I have a commerce bank debit card that I slid into the commerce bank ATM machine, nothing comes up on the screen asking for my pin (I slid the card in every which way). I only spent about 45 seconds on it so I didn't keep people waiting, but what was I doing wrong? Am I retarded or was the machine messed up?
