I worked a couple of jobs last year. I just found out i need to submit a copy of my W-2's in order to get a loan for school. I have no idea where they are? will I be able to easily get them if i stop by my former places of employment? i know i can just call but they are closed right now, i was just wondering.

What you need is proof of filing and proof of income to get a student loan. All you need is a transcript from the IRS.
visit IRS website: www.irs.gov and download form 4506-T, IRS will send you a line by line transcript of what you reported and filed on your tax return. The form 4506-T provides fax number where to file the request to. OR call IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and request them to send you the transcript(free) and usually you should receive it within 10 days from the date you make the request.
(call 1-800-829-1040 early in the morning, because they get very busy and the "hold time" could be lengthy.)
All school accept the transcript of account IRS provides.

For years 2001-2006, just call the IRS and ask for a copy of your wage and income statement. 1-800-829-1040.

Your employer should have copies on file. It may take a little time for them to find them, but you should keep a copy for yourself when you file away your taxes.
