I want to start a new job soon and I don't really understand taxes...is there a "taxes form for dummies" thing online that could teach me when it comes time to fill out the W4 form? I depend on my family for most of my living expenses, this is just extra money for myself to save for the future. I'm 18, single, no kids, but a dependent. So how do I fill one out?

Thanks!

My debit card is Master Card (there is a logo) and the only reason i applied for it is paypal (I live in the Philippines)..

When I first got it, I was told to activate it, and changing the given pin to my chosen pin. I did that with the help of a friend, and we even got receipts. Also, we tried it for the second time and my new pin worked for it.

But take note, I still have not put in money in it.. the only balance left is the minimum, but I asked and told me just swipe it and change the pin and it will be activated.

But how come my paypal won't verify it?? Am I doing something wrong?

I use Security Bank Cashlink Plus debit card (Philippines) btw

I was at Goodwill today and I was looking at a bottle of "Brawn OXY" laundry detergent and my fiancee noticed that there was a different label under the "brawn" label. So I peeled it off and the detergent that was in the bottle was called "valuetime" it had no Oxy in it at all and it was a completely different product. On the back side of the bottle was a directions label for "Brawn" covering up the "valuetime" label. I asked the store manager if he could explain this and he looked really confused and said I have no idea. Infact he put the product back on the shelf and went on back to work!! Can a company do this?

When I was being processed for a job, I had to file myself as exempt or dependent. I wasn't sure whether to claim myself exempt or dependent, so i just picked exempt. Was that a bad choice? Because I am a dependent child and so is my brother.

Thank you.

Email is preferable but if you know/find telephone numbers or other details, that would be a huge bonus :D

I filed a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy last year and have been on time with my payments and now I'm facing foreclosure. When they do finally foreclose on my house and sell it for less than what is owed on it, what will happen with the remaining balance owed on the property?

Will my Chapter 13 payments go up and will I be responsible for the remaining balance on the property?

Hi, I am interested in investing and stocks and i had a couple questions. How old do you have to be to invest? I'm 16 and i have a part-time job which i hope to put that money into either stocks or something i can see grow over time. Also, do most of you (stock investors) use companies such as TDameritrade or Charles Schwab to help you with investing? Or would stocks not be a good idea for me at my age?

I have read a bit on Suze Ormans book but i feel a bit overwhelemed. I plan on putting 500 to start so i guess i would have to invest into small companies? Any help or ideas would be very appreciated.

Hi,
I have a question on health insurance claim.
My employer provided me and my family the Pacificare PPO plan.
This plan was valid up to 03/31/2007.
Starting 04/01/2007, my employer terminated the plan with Pacificare PPO and moved to Aetna PPO.

On 03/20, my 3-year-old son had a regular checkup with the pediatrician.
The pediatrician charged about 220$ and we made the copay of $20.

The pediatrician's office sent the bill to Pacificare after 04/01/2007 and Pacificare rejected the claim made stating that we were no longer with them.

Right about a week ago, I got the bill from the doctor's office asking me to pay $200.

When my son went for the checkup, we had Pacificare. When the doctor's office sent the bill to Pacificare, we were no longer with it.

It's not our fault as it was my employer who opted out of Pacificare.

Please advise me as I made the payment of $200 to the doctor's office this morning.

I ask this question because I got an offer letter from a company in November 2007 which indicated that the job will commence on January 3rd, 2008. And I signed the offer letter. Today, in December 2007, I received another better offer which the job will commence on January 2nd, 2008. I prefer the second offer which will start on January 2nd, 2008. But I want to keep the two offers available at the same time. Because I am afraid if I cancel the first offer right now, and the second company cancel their offer after, I will not have a job . So I wonder if I can give the first company the cancellation notice on January 2nd, 2008 after I start my new job in the second company. Do I have any legal obligations to obey the first offer letter? Can I just send a email to cancel the offer letter?

purchased a home two years ago in a developing subdivision. The development (as well as all of the literature we received) called for 51 "retro style" houses - narrow lots, sidewalks, alleys. Now the developer (who also owns the realty office handling the sale of all of the homes as well as the general contracting business that is actually constructing the homes) wants to re-zone then sell the remaining property. He is requesting only 11 more homes be built and the remaining land be developed into condos. The city's planning commission meeting is on the 18th where they will vote on whether or not to allow the rezoning to be approved. Needless to say, all of the existing homeowners are ANGRY. We have contacted our alderman and know that there's strength in numbers. Any other thoughts or suggestions as to how to help us stop this would be GREATLY appreciated. Please help! My friend and her husband lost their home to foreclosure. My sister is looking to buy a foreclosure in the same city.

For example: What if my sister buys that same house and she also loses it to foreclosure? In addition, another person buys it after her, and also loses it to foreclosure?
Does each person that buys it each time, take over the last owner's payments?
If someone buys a house that had 4 previous foreclosures, will they get to make fewer or smaller payments?
Does anyone know about multiple foreclosures on the same house?
