We seperated over a year and a half ago. I have been paying the mortgage myself since without a problem. She has told me she will have her name taken off the mortgage but it hasn't happened yet. What should my first step be?

We are 25 and both have jobs. Our combined monthly income is 4,000. We already have a mutual fund with over $5,000 saved in which we place 100 each a month into. In addition to that we each have our own short terms savings which we place 100$ into a month. And with all of this, we still are able to live in a wonderful condo and pay all of our bills and YET my boyfriend still worries about money. To the point where today just now he said we need to have 25,000. saved by April 09. So we can buy a home. I mean I am all about saving money but aren't we doing OK so far? I mean its to the point where we can't even get chinese one night a month because we're saving!?

I contracted with Hovnanian to have a new home built in a sub-division in Vineland NJ. I have another home in Ocean County NJ that I have to sell in order to buy the new Hov home. I was told at the time I put a $15K deposit on the new house that if I was unable to sell my existing home that I would not qualify for the mortgage on the new home - and therefore I would be released from the contract and my deposit would be returned. It was going to take almost a year to build the new house so I had that long to sell my existing home. With times as they are I have been unable to sell my house and now the new one will be ready shortly. I called them to tell them it was not looking good because I've not sold my home. They said if I don't take delivery of the new house they will keep my $15K deposit and may even try to get more out of me! The lady that told me the original story no longer works there and I have nothing in writing. Can they do this? This doesn't sound legal!! HELP!!!

My boyfriend lives in apartment complex in Maryland. The heater/furnace broke 3 1/2 weeks ago. He has notified them of this several times and have received no response at all. No date of when it will get fixed or anything.
He and I (I live 300 miles away) have called the maintenance # at all times of day (8-5 when there supposed to be open)just to get the answering service. He works 16 hour days so he rarely can go into the rental office in person to complain about this. My question are what are his rights in the situation? Can he call someone in the government? Can he legally withhold rent into till this situation is rectified?

I read some of the IRS pub.54. It says that taxes can be deducted(?) if I prove to be a bona fide resident in a foreign country. I have been living in France for the past two years now. I also posess a residency card (as a student). All my activity is based here is what I'm saying. So I recently worked for a French company as a self-employed. In order for them to pay me I have to show proof that I pay taxes in US. They've given me a form to get filled out by me and the IRS. NOW-my question is can I be exempt from paying taxes in the US (once I prove that my "tax home" is France)? And how do I prove that I am a bona fide resident of France?

When fighting a childsupport case, the judge said that the exemptions for Traveling from our home to the first job of the day were not allowed, based on the fact that it was not a temporary job, (longer than a year). He has been doing the job for 18 years and has to travel 2 hours to get to some of his jobs. What does the judge think he can do to get to the jobs, take a transporter?
Any help would be appreciated. We have been fighting this for 2 years now, and any reference sites that you can offer to let us know the legal rights that might help up are greatly appreciated.

I'm self-employed and get paid in cash
I have no mortgage
I only have 3 direct debits

And I absolutely hate banks and everything they stand for.

Before I close my account I would like to hear from those people who manage to survive without a bank account.

Thank you!

We live together, and I have claimed the child in the past. For 2007, it looks like my boyfriend would be better off claiming him, because I only worked part time while going to college full time. So he would get a bigger refund. How do we go about changing this, so he can claim him this year. We could really use the money, while I'm in school it's been really a rough year.

I still have a few years worth of payments to make on the loan I took from my 401k, but I really want to leave my job. Would I be forced to pay it all back right then if I quit, would I be able to make payment arrangements, or what? Any help would be great. Thanks!
