I had to refinance my condo to buy-out my wife in our divorce. My refi mtge was sufficient to pay off my original note plus $20K to buy out my ex. I realize that the $20K is not "purchase money", but what about the rest of the note? Is that considered purchase money by lenders?

We need a loan from either a private person or a lending agency. Our scores are just below 500 and we have been served a Notice of Default. We make a very good income but due to several deaths in our immediate family, we have fallen behind in our payments. We need to either refinance or take a second on our home. We have approximately $133,000 in equity. Can anyone help?

I am 20 and i will begin recieving 401K at my work. They match what i allocate ito my 401K. In the past every year we would recieve a certain percentage from profit sharing directly into our 401K. We are now switching over to this matching program. i believe they match 4% for 4% of income and then after that its 3.5 for every 5% allocated and so on. How much would you suggest i allocate into this? If i switch jobs, can i still keep this 401K? Will i be allowed to continue adding to it even if i do not have a 401K program at my new job? any advice will be appreciated. thanks!

Hi, I am thinking about investing in Tim Horton's and I was wondering if anyone could point me toward answers to my specific questions.

Total shareholder equity including the number of shares authorized, issued, and outstanding for each class of stock (prefered, common, capital, treasury, etc...)

How did the decision to sell shares affect the financial statement.

I appreciate your help.

Made a big mistake 'renting' out illegal basement in NYC. Tenant is causing many problems, including changing the locks without permission, essentially cutting off our access to circuit breaker, water line & gas. There is no written contract and no checks/payments for rent have been taken and cashed, although we do hold a security. Attempts to resolve the problem by offering her aid to find residence elsewhere have been resisted. Any advice appreciated

My ex landlord refuses to return my sec. deposit she lied under oath in court and will only return 300 of 900 dollars I paid upon moving in. As a result I am forced to motion for a new trial due to the proof she presented in court were clearly lies to back up her claims the judge gave her laywer more of an opportunity to object against me and I was constantly interruped during my presentation of evidence and facts. The judge would not allow me to present evidence to back up my case and the landlord's lawyer was able to present issues that had nothing to do with the security deposit issue. The landlord claims damages that never existed, charged me for cleaning the rental unit, appliances and broken items that were clearly caused by the former tenants that lived there. I am looking to motion for a new trial AND new judge if its within my rights to do so and Im looking for representation for it is no longer about $ its about principle. I am in Waukegan, IL. County of Lake

My provider for some reason - I really dont know why signed her insurance reimbursements over to me since I had already paid her in cash, instead of depositing the checks and just writing me one of her own. This left me with several hundred dollars in third party checks which my bank wouldn't deposit for me. So I called the insurance company who said, sure send the endorsed checks back to us and we will reissue them directly to you. But instead, they issued them to the policy holder, my ex husband, who wasn't even involved in the payment of this bill in any way, but likes the idea of getting "free money" and has no intention of turning the reimbursement over to me. Does the insurance company bear any legal liability since they assured me that if I sent them my endorsed checks, they would reissue them to ME (never mentioning my ex husband)?. This is hundreds of dollars and the insurance company is giving me the old- we only issue checks to the insured line- what can I do?

Another question of mine asks about buying a home, and someone mentioned paying off debts. My husband has some trust funds maturing this Christmas, and will be no less thank 1250.00, could be more. Which debt should we pay off first? Ok, here's a list of all our debts... (blech) .

3235.51 My Car (64.00 Monthly)
6034.98 His Car (112.00 Monthly)
1400.00 Credit Card (100.00 Monthly)
200.00 Dog Training (120.00 monthly)
800.00 Car Insurance (due april/ 134.00 monthly)

Also, we were thinking about selling my car to get rid of that debt, we could probably get 4,500 for it about putting 700.00 body work into it (my husband hit my car in the driveway, needs a new bumper)

Any advice here? I know I'm asking some similar questions, but I'm at my wits end here!!!! Thanks in advance.

(ooh and again here's our figures. 1260 earned/month, 926 expenses/month.)

I found a company that guarantees to pay out 1.5 to 2% interest EVERY DAY. I have done this business for 2 months now and they pay me everyday ontime without fail. i can take my money out every easy and been taking some interst money. My friends say stop. Should I trust it? I'm thinking every investor would be breaking down their walls to invest with them.
