I put some figures into Tax form 1A for 2007.

Assuming:

You are single and claim yourself as a deduction
You are not paying rent
You have not eligible for other tax credits (which you very well could be if you are only earnign 18K a year)

You would pay about 508 in taxes.

If you are single and claiming yourself, you standard deduction is $8060. You would be paying taxes on $10679 of your income.

If someone else can claim you, then the numbers are going to be different.

You can get the tax sheets for this year from http://www.revenue.wi.gov/html/taxind.html

Take a peak and fill them out based on your current situation. It'll only take a few minutes.

Your federal income tax would have been around $1164. I'm assuming the "one" you claimed was yourself, and that you filed as single. Probably around $800 to Wisconsin for state income tax.

For FAFSA though you'll need to have exact numbers, and a copy of your 2006 tax return.
