Ok my wifes parents are have just "filed" bankruptcy because they are irresponable and buy stuff for thereselves and pay bills if anything is left. Anyway I thought losing there house would wake
them up.It has been 3 months now since they filed and they havent even got a court date yet let own went yet and they are even blowing more money now instead of saving anything. We have now came to realize they are not going to change

My question is what happens if after they go to court and complete all this they rack up credit cards and debt again?
I know they cant file bankruptcy again for like 7 years.
So what happens if they cant pay again?
Someone told me they go to jail, but I dont think thats the case.
Would they just garnish all there wages and not even leave them enough to live? I have never heard of someone being broke again after filling.Someone help me out

Maybe a real estate agent or someone who recently purchased a home can help me out here. Say for example a home is listed for $80,000, how much is that home actually going to sell for. I guess what I'm asking is, what is the actual selling prices in relation to their list price?

I'm a student, about to sign a lease for june 1st of this coming year. What does it mean in my lease:

"LESSEE(S) shall be responsible for the payment of real estate taxes and other assessments levied against the demised premises"?

Does this mean that I have to pay the real estate taxes on the property I'll be leasing for the year? Won't that work out to thousands of dollars?

I'm going to ask my landlord this before I sign, but I wanted some outside advice too.

Thanks.

Can anyone give me information about what a real estate's agent's responsibilities are when the owners of the house have moved to another state, and agent is essentially trying to sell a vacated house? For instance, if the empty house is vandalized several times, does the real estate agent have any legal responsibility, for instance, if she was slow to alert the owners or some such thing? Can anyone give me some sites to look up about owners (sellers) and real estate agents when the owners have moved to another location?
Thank you very, very much.

Since a judge has ruled that investors such as DeutschBank cannot foreclose because they do not hold the mortgage paper on the assets and since mortgage lenders such as Citibank do not hold the debt (although they may have the paper) then is it possible that the borrowers will be able to stay in their homes without paying another cent in mortgage payments? In other words if no one knows who is the holder of the direct debt on those homes then there is no one who can foreclose.

My annual salary will be 50K plus the 1099A will around 40K that would put me in a higher tax bracket which I will not have the money for. I have no other assets and ruined credit, should I file for bankruptcy at this point or can I do a offer of compromise with the IRS on the federal taxes?

Please, no lecturing, I know I've done a horrible thing, I didn't request my money back right away. Now, finally, in Dec of 07 I have finished my return. I had an accountant that jacked me around, henceforth I started doing it myself. I have w-2 income, 1099s, and business, so it takes forever! Now, that I'm finally done, if I send this in, will I still get my money back?
Thank you!

There's this multi-billion inherit that will go to many people in my family. I am going to be 18 in 1 year and about 5months, 27 days to be exact. The inheritance papers and the exact amount of money will not be given, nor finalized until when I am 17, or maybe before. Does the money go to my parents to hold, and then can give it to me when I'm 18? Or.. Can I receive it? I mean it wouldn't be fair for me not to get some of those millions of dollars because of being one year younger than the asked age. Help! Can someone please tell me what the laws are? I am so frustrated right now, I mean who wouldn't if everyone in your family is getting millions and you might not be..

Thank you.

I have been looking for apartments in NY City. Finally I found that I like. The agent told me that the Broker's fee is 15% of the yearly rent. I tried to negotiate but no luck. I had to accept it.

Than, during the process they asked me a $500 processing fee on top of the brokers fee.

I am planning to go to Better Business Bureau. Has anyone have any experience? Am I wrong?
