Also I will still get another day off during the week and get off at 530 instead of 700 or 800 pm

$500 to $1000 less? That is A LOT

How much would you be working? If you are only getting Sundays off I say no way. I wouldn't do it. Don't take a wage cut. Keep looking

What's important to you - the 500 to 1,000 US dollars a month or the one day off ( sundays ) and the difference in commute time ?

Money is not everything - You must have the time to spend it wisely ( specially that you are studying ). A good education is an investment for a better future.

If you can live comfortably with the reduced monthly income, then its best that you move to the new job.

ok it isn't much of a trade-off is it?? whic means more?? the money or the nearness and off-Sunday-ness?? hun, I am just a stay- at - home mom, but I would retract the two- weeks notice and take your job back, and also , I would keep that job. just me, here, mind you, but I think you love your job. Ok, you would be in a nearer place, no Sunday's, but do u want that? U didn't mention kids, so I ASSUME u don't have any. i would think it over reallllly closeely but if it were me, I would retract your 2 weeks, and let your gut instinct and first thoughts, be your guide.

Money isn't everything. I would give up good pay in a heart beat for peace of mind and have (I did pick up a part-time job) and between the two I am happy. Anyway when you finish school you'll be more able to get the higher wages.

Base your decision not on the money lost but what do you actually need the money for? Mortgage payments, car payments, or just party money?

If I could survive on less money, then I would take it. My time is soooo important to me. I'm a happy, very pleasant person and that is because I balance my life. I don't take on too much and I don't do too little.

It's hard; but you know what is more important to you. If you feel pulled to thin, then you need to cut back. If having less money will cause you more stress-i.e. worrying about bills or just scrapping by-then you should keep your job. Why make that kind of trade? I'd rather be stressed with some money, than stressed with none. But, if I could chose no stress, I'd take that.

Given the cost of gas today, and it rises all, the time, take the new job. You will get back up there eventually when you get salary increases. I used to commute over thirty miles and was spending 200 dollars a month or more on gas; now I got a work at home job and don't drive anywehre but the grocery store. With gas so high, it doesn't pay you to drive so fasr...wear and tear on your car, the traffic, the gass...plus, the increased insurance cost.

You mentioned that you are in college. My recommendation (regardless of how much of little you will make) is to get a job or internship in the field that you are studying. This is a must if you want a job in your field when you get out. Or else you could end up with a sweet degree and still doing leasing consulting.

DON'T DO IT!!! you will regret it big time. i dont care what any one tells you money is important its right next to oxygen. also you will realize you now have more time to spend money with less of it.. What to do now???? keep the one you have. think of it as karma. you work hard now to get off easy later. it has gotten me through life till today. im positive it will for anyone in the world .. and always remember what goes around comes around.

You have to decide if having money or having time in your life to spend with loved ones is more important to you. Personally, I can't see any point in life if you can't live it. Money is a nice thing to have but you only need so much of it, you can't take it with you when you die and it doesn't buy happiness.
