If you were to be declared legally insane, you wouldn't have the luxury of living off of benefits. You would most likely get committed to a psychiatric institution for treatment and be put on serious drugs. That is if you could even convince people you were insane in the first place. The evaluation techniques used to determine a person's sanity are very hard to trick and can pick out someone who is malingering, or faking insanity, quite easily. Your best bet would be to find a job you like and stop trying to take advantage of a system designed to help those that really need it.

That seems like a very clever solution to your situation.
There's only one problem with it - it's too clever.
Have you ever read Catch 22? This is the book where it clearly explains that anyone sane enough to want to leave a war is obviously not mad enough to be discharged from the army.
The character Klinger in MASH was based upon this premise.
Why not try a double-bluff?
Suck up something rotten to your boss. Be extra nice to your collegues, remember their birthdays. Always say complimentary things about your Director of Human Resources. Smile at your customers and so on.
Keep this up for a month and they'll bend over backwards to get you taken away by the men in white coats.

Now that might be a bit of a catch 22. I mean if you are insane then you probably would be entitled, however if you are sane enough to be able to fill in a benefits claim form then you can't be insane at all now can you?

Yes, but how would you do that? Get another job it' easier you can't live on benefits comfortably. And you will be under constant threat of loosing them.

gee sounds good to me
however if you're certified to be insane they'll put you in the booby hatch (which it seems to me is what you need) and then you won't have to work. you'll be able to play all day.
of course you'll also be locked up.

If your job has driven you that mad and you're certified bonkers by the NHS then yea, lol!
